Wonder what kind of deal Mixer gave Shroud and Ninja....

Got curious and wanted to check it out. Ninja is sitting out 8500 and Shroud sitting at 5200 on a Friday night in the middle of Winter.
That's probably 1/10th of what they would probably get on Twitch. That's gotta be a HUGE hit in subscriptions and donations.

Enough to make the numbers not matter. The only thing hurting is their ego.

Yep. Those dudes cashed out. Plus they can always go back to Twitch when the deal ends and bank even more due to the hype that will generate upon return.

The #1 streamer live on Twitch right now is xQc and he currently has 21k viewers.
So no, not quite 1/10, maybe more like 1/4th.
The ad and subscription revenue each month are not where streamers make the big money anyway. Whatever money Microsoft gave them represents many years worth of ad/sub revenue.

They aren't xQc.
I've seen Ninja have 60-80k and Shroud with 50-60k on a typical Friday night.
So yes....quite 1/10.

That's a fair statement, they'd def both pull more than xQc was.
Based on what I just googled looks like Ninja was averaging about 40K per stream on Twitch and has been averaging about 10k on Mixer
Someone with WAY too much time on their hand apparently created an entire site tracking Ninja and Shroud's Twitch vs. Mixer stats
https://mixer.twitchtracker.com/
https://mixer.twitchtracker.com/ninja
Their hold is definitely better than the average Twitch streamer would be. If you took some mid-tier guy and moved him to Mixer he would indeed probably only pull 1/10th of his old viewers, if that.

I thank them for doing the legwork for a gaming only platform. Twitch is an absolute shitshow now.

You don't like the boob streamers?

I'll never understand the idea of being a viewer of boob streamers. There are actual cam sites where you can watch a whore shove things in their arse.

Yup. If a chick’s webcam stream is bigger than the actual game window I know to steer clear.

Yeah, a lot of them would have the opportunity of having me gain a dangerously inappropriate level of emotional attachment to them, if they just put forth an honest effort.

He's entertaining for sure but he plays a lot of shitty games that are boring as hell to watch.

So nobody in any of my circles watches streamers or really talks about them, but it looks like there is a very strong base of people who do.
Sorry if this is hijacking this thread, but what gives watching streamers such appeal? I am genuinely curious, as I may have to give it a try.

I'll admit it's pretty cool to watch someone who has mastered a certain game run a clinic, but like I've said before, my gaming time itself is limited, so I won't waste much of it watching someone else play a game
Plus, I think most of them have a personality, or persona, that people gravitate towards.
