I had a feeling we were neighbors.

When the kids were younger we spent a LOT of time there, although not as much as the playground on Hernandez and 16th since it was even closer. My youngest loved playing around the old building they are replacing with the new activities center. And my wife still enjoys the occasional worm-drowning off the pier (when she does catch something she always throws it back - not that you'd want to eat anything out of that bayou!)

My only wish as far as the case was concerned would be that they held the Freedom From Religion idiots responsible for ALL associated court costs. Removing the cross would have been an unnecessary expense for the taxpayers, and they have wasted hundreds of billable hours tilting at this particular windmill - if memory serves, most (if not all) of the plaintiffs had never even laid eyes on it prior to their filing.
