Terrible take. Nobody is required to go to the combine. They are invited. An invitation they are more than welcome to turn down.
I’m simply pointing out that comparing it to a regular job interview is frickin stupid

Always funny when people think guys who have played for free for 4 years are selfish but the billionaire owners who don’t want to pay the players for something like this aren’t

Yes, you can get into a car accident on the way to the interview.
The injury has nothing to do with the actual job interview
Try again

The whole premise is stupid.
If you're a top player, you are obviously not going to risk injury and/or your draft status by going through all of the drills for free but it's not like you're going to take that risk for, say, 20 grand. And the NFL isn't paying Joe Burrow 6 or 7 figures to show up, so there goes that idea.
The mid tier to lower tier players get the opportunity to showcase themselves and have no real leverage to even demand a McDonald's gift card so who is getting paid here?

These aren't their players or employees.
Why is that difficult to grasp?

Is my employer broadcasting my interview on national TV and making money on it?
Did you apply for the position with full knowledge that playing in the NFL involved playing football on tv?

Why does this even matter?
They're "interviewing"/auditioning for a very lucrative job that will pay them an arse-ton of money in 2 short months. I'm sure they don't mind doing this for free, considering what is waiting for them on the other side.

Is your interview done in front of 30+ employees and with exposure on national TV?
Did the NFL combine start out as some TV event designed to attract a network and advertisers? Who made the investment? Who grew the event?
Players are more than welcome to turn down the invite and many do.

What?WTF does this have to do with the combine? You do know the combine wasn't always on TV, correct? You think it really started as some made for TV event? Ya think they're doing this for TV money?LMAO!
It's a freakin drop in the bucket in terms of revenue.
While we're at it,why not pay Little Leaguers for the LLWS?
I would bet their ratings and revenues are better.Shouldnt these little guys get paid? Same premise, correct?

It's in the players self interest to get paid for a job interview? It's in the players best interest to show up PERIOD.
Do you REALLY the NFL GAS about the TV revenue generated?
Once again, players are extended an invite. They're absolutely free to turn it down.
How bout the players do their own combine? They find the facility, they invite the scouts, they put together the TV deal AND keep ALL the revenue.
Sounds fair to me?
