What is wrong with these folks?
Do they not know socialism fails everywhere it goes?
No one will want to work and our economy will tank!
I blame our schools for failing to educate them on economics.

The schools failed them by design.
Educate them in a bunch of useless shite for lots of money then kick them out into the world with loans to repay.

It is not just that they want free handouts, it is that they don't trust government (rightly so). Bernie is seen as an outsider. Trump is seen as an outsider. They don't like Trump. They flock to Bernie.

It's more than that. They have no life's experience. They usually come around to reality when they hit 30 when they get married, buy a home, have kids and start learning what everyday things cost to keep a house running.
Why do you think Colleges are so liberal? They have to indoctrinate them while they are young

I have a major problem with Bernie’s position on free college and student loans. Yes student loans are crippling to new graduates and yes they voluntarily signed up for them, but the root cause is the federal government backing and guaranteeing student loans to anyone who wants them. Schools realized that and jacked up their tuitions knowing that students would “pay” via loans.

Young people are flocking to Bernie, because their whole lives, they have been told they are special. They got into the real world with worthless degrees and no skills. Then, they realized, they are not special.

They are ticked that wages have been mostly stagnent but housing/education/health care have all shot up in price.
While I disagree with their answers, I can agree that our current system of crony capitalism and CEOs with golden parachutes is not the best it could be. I'm as big a libertarian you can find, but crony capitalism and the lobbying that goes with it are hurting us as a country.

I have asked my peers why and all they say is free education.
You can get a free education by obtaining scholarships and/or going into the military.
They dont want to work hard for anything.
I put myself through college by joining the military. I have no college debt.
