This is my first post. I live in Nashville. I'll be coming back to Louisiana first time in 8yrs in June to visit family, ill have access to a 20ft bay boat for 2 weeks....the best trout spots would be appreciated. Doesn't matter the location. I'll be in Lafayette area and can travel west or east. What's your opinion. Ok go....

I fish the Rigolets in Slidell or MRGO in East N.O.
That is a haul for you though.
There are several facebook pages dedicated to just this topic.

Everyone know the best speckled trout area is Lake Maurepas. My honey hole is the lone cypress tree just as you exit Blind river on the right. Fish the north side of the tree with a Lemonhead Matrix Shad 12” under cork. You can thank me later.

From Lafayette the best area would be South of Houma. The Cocodrie, Dulac, Dularge areas. Not a bad drive from Lafayette and awesome trout fishing. Not as close at Cypremore Point or Big Lake but better fishing IMO.

Contact me when you come. My best friend is basically a guide in Vermillion bay...down at C Point.
I'll hook you 2 up and you can get the info from him. It depends on rain, clarity, wind, etc.

Be careful if you go to Terrebonne Parish. A lot has changed in the 8 years you’ve been gone. Summer storms changed a lot of the fishing grounds and how you navigate them.
Good luck.

Go to Terrebonne in June. Hit up this board as you get closer to your trip. I'll be happy to pass along any reports.

If I had 2 weeks to fish in June, I’d be in GI/Fourchon/Leeville.

Check back closer to when you come as the rain amounts up north and the River change things quite a bit the past few years.

Best shot if you planned today would be Grand Isle during the summer.
