T/F: dissatisfaction with Linehan hire is rooted in lack of faith in Ensminger

I'll admit I'm a little guilty of this, because no matter how much we are told that E was calling most of the plays and he has this offense down, we're still not buying it 100% and were fully expecting this PGC hire to be the OC in waiting. Otherwise this hire wouldn't have been the barbed wire bat up the arse of the rant the last 12 hours or so.
Again, Orgeron has earned my trust, and I believe when he says he's not giving up on the aggressive/attacking style of offense, so if he felt Linehan was the best fit, I'm on board.

I mean I would Say I’m concerned but not worried
I realize There is a possibility this explodes.
I think it will be ok.
I just want to see LSU always make not just a good hire but the best possible hire always.
Idk if we made that. But we were pretty far behind in the process.

I agree it is rooted in lack of faith in O and E.
Which is, frankly, baseless after 2019.

It’s because the rant is full of retards who constantly try to prove they know football. Each and every time they are proved wrong. Ignore them and use the rant for information purposes only and not opinion.

I don't think Orgeron would have a problem cutting bait after 1 season if this doesn't work out.
I hope not. Poor Brennan.

This is mostly why I’m not worried.
O will do what needs to be done if this doesn’t work.
Short team this is a bit of a toss up, long term I trust O not to let loyalty get in The way of success

So it’s a you problem not an LSU problem. If you refuse to believe a coach that has been nothing but honest since the day he was hired then there is nothing anyone else can say to change your mind.

O can be telling the truth and be wrong.
I believe O believes E has this.

Curious is Randy Moss was in Orgeron's ear at all about Linehan.

I have to think that convincing some of these NFL coaches to come back to college and start recruiting again is a tall order. Some are fine with it, some aren't (Joe Brady).

Which is, frankly, baseless after 2019.
E had Burrow, our stud receivers, tailback, etc. in 2018. And we had a pedestrian offense.
Brady comes in and our offense explodes in 2019, with basically the same crew.
Are you sure O's lack of faith in E is baseless?

I agree with you, however I am also concerned with the real probability of the team taking a small step back due to the attrition and new acclimation of all the pieces being assembled and the more casual fans adopting a " The sky is falling" outlook short term before allowing a first year starting QB and many others and staff an "appropriate" time to gel together coming off arguably the best season in CFB history.

That isn't the question, now is it?

Nope. That isn't the question.
After 2019, lack of faith in O (the head coach who built the machine) and E (the offensive playcaller) is BASELESS.
Meaning "without support."

Kinda like the lack of faith yall had in CEO huh

quote:so you don't think coaches sometimes bend the truth a bit? Good lord, man, a lot of what coaches say is straight PR (which is necessary, by the way).
If you refuse to believe a coach that has been nothing but honest since the day he was hired then there is nothing anyone else can say to change your mind.
I mean, a coach can't say they have little faith in other coaches on staff, or the backup QB, etc. They have to publicly support those guys, but behind the scenes things can be quite different.
Happens all the time. Don't put much faith in the literal public words of any coach. Half the time, it's just coachspeak.

Explodes how? LSU isn't making some dramatic shift in offensive philosophy.
No matter what this board will be upset because LSU and for that matter, no team may ever have the offensive success that 2019 had. Do people really think LSU is going to revert back a Les Miles offense?

And let's just circle back to this nonsense for a second:
2018 - Joe passed for 2894 yards (good enough for 4th all time single season, at that time). 16 passing TDs good enough for Top 10 single season at the time.
We had a 1000 yard rusher (Brossette, good enough for Top 10 or 11 at the time) and his backup (CEH) rushed for over 650 yards on 156 carries.
We had more of a 4-headed monster in 2018 at WR, with Dillon, Sullivan and Chase all over 300 yards (and Jefferson leading with 875). Project those yards into 3 and Jefferson probably has a Top 10 or Top 12 single season performance.
46 offensive touchdowns.
