Wonder Woman did amazing at the box office because it was a political stance. It was just a damn good movie and didn't try to be anything else. Why is it so hard for them to understand this?
Actor Ewan McGregor explicitly described the movie as a feminist themed attack on misogyny in an interview from October 2019.
Also Harley Quinn without The Joker is not very interesting.

I have said it countless times, but these bleeding hearts are barking up the wrong tree trying to paint action/comic book/fantasy fans as women haters. They have no problems with strong female leads/characters, so long as they make sense.
Ellen Ripley
Sarah Connor
Charlie Baltimore (Long Kiss Goodnight)
Wonder Woman
Black Widow
Dottie Hinson (League of their Own)
Alita
Eowyn
Leeloo (5th Element)
Princess Leia
Respectfully, most of these characters are waaaaaaaaaaaay before the current "girl power for girl power's sake" movement.

But what a time to be alive!
You've got a character that was created for a 1990s afternoon cartoon that became a fan hit, made it into the comics, becoming an even bigger hit, and now she's just like Superman and the latest iteration of Batman....bombing in multiple movies on the big screen.
Way to go DC!
Also, who knew that Rosie Perez was still working?

Well that's just a dumb thing to say. This movie bombed because the marketing for the movie was absolutely awful and that title wasn't going to reel in a lot of the GA.
Overall the movie was pretty good and didn't have anything to do with woke culture aside from one little joke early on.

Not true - in the comics, she's been plenty successful without him.
THAT SAID - she is usually WAY better playing off of another protagonist who is generally the calm half of the duo. Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn is a really damned good duo, and the animated show is 1000x better than the movie because Harley's frantic nature is played off of Ivy's no nonsense personality.
What they should have done is had Harley and Joker to start (A NEW JOKER - Leto sucks balls), then branch off as she realizes she doesn't need him. Befriending Ivy along the way. Third act is either them pulling a heist together (make it a super-powered heist movie) or becoming anti-heroes, like Punisher.

They’re too stupid to realize that its not that guys have a problem with strong female leads. It’s the fact that these movies are portraying almost every white male as a villain or a spineless soy boy. White male = evil in Hollywood these days. The movie probably flat out sucked (I haven’t seen it and don’t intend to), but they couldn’t admit they made a bad movie, so they have to blame somebody.
