Always believed Brennan didn’t quite feel like a zone read / rpo QB like burrow. Burrow could tuck it and run.
Brennan appears to be a spread throwing Qb. Sit back in shotgun offense like patriots and sling it. Linehan could be better coaching a Brennan strengths than a Brady like clone. With young analyst on board and rpo plays from last year, rpo plays can be sprinkled in. Just a thought but for clarity I don’t like the hire either. Trying to find a positive spin.

I feel sorry for the kid. If there’s one thing you can be sure of if something goes wrong next season the player, not the multi millionaire adult, will take the blame here.

We didn’t run that many RPOs or Read Options.

Myles actually ran a lot of read options (for some reason)

I don’t think you understand what RPOs are and we really didn’t run as many RPOs last year as our fan base believes

Brennan isn't skinny anymore and there is no reason to believe that he couldn't tuck the ball and get a few first downs per game when needed.

Brennan reminds me of Matthew Stafford. Some of Stafford's best years were under Linehan.

I don't know what his running ability is in college but I'm pretty sure he ran more RPO than Burrow did last year. Whether he can translate his running ability to college who knows. Burrow never looked super fast but he sure did juke a lot of people. He's not a statue. It's all about the reads anyway. Burrow always took off at the best opportunity possible in man coverage which gashed defenses for 20 yard gains.

Fully half (and probably closer to 2/3) of Burrow's runs (minus the sacks) were him detaching from the pocket and improvised. Neither called QB runs, nor RPO, but improv.

Myles can also tuck it an run as necessary, but I don't think he has the wheels Burrow had. But, Myles isn't an immobile statue.
