Does Myles Brennan have more pressure on him than any LSU player ever?

I know we will all try to be patient with Brennan but he is trying to follow in the footsteps of a guy who may have a statue outside of Tiger Stadium by the time next season starts. Also Brennan will have two record-breaking WRs from the previous year and a fanbase that just witnessed a 15-0 season and a team discussed as potentially the greatest of all time. I cant think of any other LSU player to have ever had that much on their shoulders as a first year starter.

No.

If we hadn't won it all, everyone including Brady stayed, etc, maybe.

Rationale fans understand Burrow was a once in a lifetime QB, and while I expect Brennan to produce, nothing near as much as Burrow.

LSU won a lot of football games before Burrow and will win a lot of football games after Burrow

Brennan can win football games
He'll have some growing pains his first season as a starter but he could have a similar two year run as Burrow with an outstanding senior season.

I know one thing, at least with O at the helm the offense will never do the things that Miles did with the talent he had, and that's good enough for this Tiger fan!

One can argue having gone 15-0 losing both Brady and Aranda and lots of players to the draft, that Brennan actually has less pressure on him because people won’t be expecting him to be the lynchpin to bring it all together and keep it going. New team completely.

Just my 2 cents

Agreed. He will be just as good or better than Joe was his first year. People expecting him to be year 2 Burrow are a bit delusional.

No.

Matt Flynn had the most to me.

The fan base is content due to the natty.

In 07 we returned what was preseason #2, his predecessor was the #1 overall pick and we were expected to win every game.

Brandon Harris in 16 was probably the 2nd most imo.

Burrow just played out of his mind for a year and had to win a national championships gains the an undefeated team to be a champion and keep the season undefeated.

That was the most pressure ever.

anybody who follows a legend (whether it's a Heisman winner, long-time elite coach, etc.) is in for a rough ride, just because it's impossible to live up to the standard set by the previous guy.

I honest to God think it was Jarret Lee that year he threw all of those pick 6's. The guy was probably so hesitant and unconfident every snap he stepped back to throw.

If Myles even thinks like your thread, we are lost. Really, he needs to look at this as if he is taking over a team with no history. Looking at the past does nothing. Work hard, lead your team, study constantly, and have confidence in your ability and leadership. The past has no relevance to him.

Only the pressure he puts on himself which goes for every player on the team.

I'm not worried about it he'll be fine.

Have you been reading the "Blame Wade" threads? Wait until we lose a game.
The anti O crowd have been forced to bite their tongues for a season. Just wait for his comeuppance.
You can bet if we don't win them all, Brennan will get his also.
