Remember after the 2000 Daytona 500 when Earnhardt went on a rant about how they had ruined restrictor plate racing and Bill France Sr. would roll over in his grave if he saw what they had done to it? That’s how I feel about current superspeedway racing.

That’s where we miss Earnhardt Sr., because he’d say what needed to be said and he actually influenced NASCAR’s decisions.

It's never been the same since they went to the COT and changed the rules to where you can barely adjust anything. The cars are too similar. What made restrictor plate racing great was the ingenuity and ability for cars to get runs.

Everybody knows the secrets now and it's like those go cart tracks where you are full throttle and can't catch the next driver because he never has to lift and has the same go cart you do.
