He's a significantly more accurate passer than Williams. For me, accuracy would have to be a prerequisite to even think of recruiting a particular QB.

We could go on an extensive deep-dive comparing the two but I don't really feel like taking the time.

Williams has an extremely high ceiling and could be a great QB.

ETA: But I trust the coaching staff. They like Williams and Nuss so

People have been parroting that accuracy spiel with not one link to either’s 2019 numbers. I found their 2018 numbers and although their completion percentages were rounded to the same, Williams’ was a bit higher by a few 10ths of a percentage. Please provide proof of your claim Nussmier was “significantly more accurate” than Williams. People who claimed that in past posts have used “Nuss” 2019 percentage posted by someone on a pay site against Williams’ 2018 completion percentage. No one has ever linked either’s 2019 numbers. Otherwise it is just speculation not based on fact. Please post their 2019 actual numbers that you have based that accuracy conclusion on.

That extensive deep dive comparison you mentioned would be great because I am truly interested in the “Nuss” love by many. Maybe I am missing something. He is 6’ 1.5” 171lbs , the 11th rated Pro QB and 168 ranked player. For comparison Brennan was 6’ 3” 180, the 6th rated Pro QB and 152nd ranked player. And Miles’ numbers were exponentially better than “Nuss”’s numbers. You never answered whether you feel Nussmeier is better than Brennan and/or Johnson. And do you guys know something no one else, including the experts, knows?

Can't say I blame him, we have seen the offense with out Joe Brady

Steve put up 0 points vs Bama and really low numbers vs Florida he's going to have to prove he can do it by himself but i bet if we start off next year and the offense still looks solid he and other qbs will really give us a look, we need to get a elite qb this cycle

How hard is to understand that our Offense isn't going BACK to what we were doing before Brady?

C'mon man

Was Burrow a five star? What set him apart was his accuracy.
If as was posted, Nuss is very accurate, he may be the guy for this offense.

You are not actually using Burrow’s 2019 season for the proposition “Nuss” is the best choice for LSU, are you? Using that logic and not having to fall into QB miracle number two at LSU, google the number 1 rated DT QB over the last 10 years. The success rate is infinitely better than finding another overlooked and underrated Joe Burrow. That may not fit your fairytale scenario but has a much better chance of happening. You can’t find more than 2 top rated DT QBs in the last 10 years who did not have outstanding college careers.

Here is another granting “Nuss” the accuracy edge with no facts to back it up. Is it an assumption he must be more accurate? Do inaccurate QBs become 5 Star QBs?

UGA isn’t getting him

It’ll come down to LSU, PSU, OU, Oregon

I get why PSU would be attractive.

Could be the somewhat local kid staying home. If he went there Penn St would immediately become big 10 championship material.

If he actually did it and got them to a playoff even if they lost in the semis he’d probably be a god there.

He’s clearly doing his due process. If he thinks Peen State will better feature him than us than he’s less of a cerebral guy than I thought.

Ahead of Nuss and may not be the only one. Some felt the kid that just committed to FSU was above him as well. Nuss is a fans dream not the staffs.

Think we are gonna land Williams myself.

I think it simply depends on how we look this year. If we’re look the same or similar as we did last year (stylistically, not production) then he’ll still probably be interested.

It was actually Munoz leaving that hurt worse than Brady, but Munoz is still a candidate for LSU...still in talks.

yeah I don't believe this bullshite one bit.

as it is for most and Brennan was said to have great accuracy in high school. With all that supposedly great accuracy, he didn't start his first 3 years, and his accuracy has never looked great in any time we've seen of him (it looks okay though).

Three guys I thought were deadly accurate in high school by watching their tape and skill competitions were Haskins, Tua, and Fromm. I haven't watched Nuss yet, but I'm betting you are vastly overrating his accuracy.

Every year y'all have this QB that y'all overrate and overhype (Patterson was one year, Kiel was one another year, this past year was the guy who went to TAMU). Like I said I have yet to see Nuss so I won't say if he's great or not, but the way you said it makes me believe he's the next overrated QB for this board to fall over. I have seen Williams though and I can tell you without a second thought, that this guy is going to be amazing. He's not a polished product, but who is coming out of high school? This is a guy that I believe will start as soon as Brennan leaves, if he comes here.

Agree totally, I imagine if you sat O down and said pick door #1 ——- Caleb W. or
Door #2 ——— Nuss,
Now be honest(which is impossible on Here) which Door does O choose.
Come on Door #1 and Geaux Tigahs!

Not sure your point here, but Penn St took Minnesota OC, Kirk Ciarrocca, who is a huge upgrade. Maybe you should be more informed if you are going to talk shite to other posters.

LOL. Did you happen to watch Minnesota's offense last year? That offense with Penn St talent is just as explosive as ours. The fact you dont see why Caleb sees Penn St as a very viable option tells me you are not as cerebral as you think.

Maybe OU’s plan is to take a transfer?

There’s no chance in hell OU takes a transfer with rattler waiting in the wings. If they took another transfer and bumped rattler down the depth chart, not only would rattler transfer but they’d absolutely kill their chances at recruiting elite QBs going forward. Nobody wants to go somewhere where you know you’re gonna get jumped by grad transfers/can never be comfortable with your standing on the depth chart

I found their 2018 numbers and although their completion percentages were rounded to the same, Williams’ was a bit higher by a few 10ths of a percentage.

Williams had a 56% completion percentage his Fresh yr and a 52% his Soph yr. Couldn’t find Jr year on him.

Nuss had a 56% his Soph yr which was cut in half because of injury. 67% completion percentage his Junior year.

And then there are the highlights. Even in the highlights you can see the difference.

Also, Williams’ ratings on 247

I agree but we don't know what it's going to be under Ensminger and a new PGC. It won't be what it was under Brady, nor should it be because we have a different signal-caller.

This kid isn't coming to LSU because of what happened last year. It'll be because of the entire body of work until his commitment. So this PGC hire is of vital importance.

We don't need the same production, but we need to demonstrate that Ensminger can.take what we have and get the most out of it. He didn't do that in Burrow's first season.

If he doesn't choose us, it's his loss, and would be an absolutely terrible decision.
