The 2020 crawfish season is off to a strong start, with reports of prices that are half what they were a year ago and two to three times the supply.

I have had them 4 times so far this year. I talked to the guy that owns a local place. He said his farmer was catching about 125 sacks and grading down to around 30 last week.

my two experiences this year so far
Adrians on highland is solid, had good size and flavor
If you offered to pay for my crawfish, I still wouldn't go back to boil and roux. Everything about that place was awful. Waitress was clueless, cold crawfish, filthy bathrooms, and they even had some random guy painting the walls at 7:30 at night so you had to be careful what you touched.

I wanted to buy some lives ones for this weekend but the cpl places I called said they were medium at best. Maybe I didn't call the right places or they are keeping the bigger ones to boil them self?
Maybe next weekend...who has some good sized ones now?

The prices aren't high now and won't be all year
They are the lowest for this time of year in the last 5 years

I have been picking them up from crawfish boss and they are mixed. The flavor is on point though. Hell, I may pick up some tonight.

Do you have a like to the most recent version of the crawfish boil calculator?

My only complaint is that they boil the vegetables in plain water.

I don't think I have eaten crawfish at a restaurant . We boil them every Sunday . Still a little small . Boiled the last three weeks .

High prices? We’re getting paid $2 a pound for our crawfish from our farm easily the lowest it’s been in the last 5 years. Ask the boil n go’s why they are still over $6 a pound.
