I would Rather try and recruit to the point we don’t have huge holes that we need grad transfers year in year out.

Of course. I'm sure every coach would. But shite happens.

Early departures, injuries, academic or discipline issues.

I think it will be more like 23+1+1, but truthfully wouldn't mind signing the 25 we want in the early signing period.

Just remember for every Joe Burrow there are Jonathan Giles, and Terrence Alexanders

I’ll take my chances if it means you find a joe burrow once in a while.

In this era of the transfer portal , it makes a lot of sense to save a few spots every year. In the spring you can see what holes need to be filled and what transfers are available. Coach O has been crushing this new setup.

Honestly, QB is the position affected the most. I wouldn’t sign more than one per class. Can always add a transfer if he doesn’t pan out. As it stands now, you’re losing the backup transferring out every year anyway. And losing a scholly that could be used elsewhere.

Remember 3 of the 4 qbs in the playoffs were transfers. Qbs that aren’t starting want to leave and it’s easier than ever for them to do so.
