A couple of years ago, I walked into a Bargain Hunt store and bought a $5 dri-fit polo and a new $25 wink hub 2. I sold the wink hub for $74 on ebay. I'm still in the green with that particular Bargain Hunt store.

I'm more familiar with flipping tech products that were bought from stores in small towns and rural areas. Those same products would've be long gone if they were in more urban areas. Your interests and location are big factors in what you'll be successful with and what you won't be successful with as a side gig.

The last time I posted this the thread got anchored. It may be that the thread was about China NFL/MLB/NBA knockoff shops ?

I would buy jerseys from the same shops that made the replicas at $14-$19 a piece. I would buy popular ones (right now it would be Mahomes) and sell them to U.S. buyers only. I would make up to $80.00 on occasion, usually averaged around $45.00. The lowest I ever sold one was for $30.00. I made a shite ton on Drew Brees jerseys after the Super Bowl, they had the captain patch and both colors. I ordered 125 total and made some bank. I would also buy jerseys/shirts from mall shoe/sports stores when they would basically give them away b/c they only had XX/XXXL sizes left. You would be shocked at the amount of people that want these things. I slowed down a bit when my job got busy but I plan to go at it hard again when I retire in a few years. It was addictive, sort of like gambling.

Shipping, I posted the price they would pay and had it tracked and offered insured price.

Returns, ALL SALES FINAL NO RETURNS.

I also took PayPal only.

Despite this I sold all of my items and only had to eat a couple due to lost shipping by USPS.

The worst buyer I ever dealt with on Ebay was involving a men's gold and black onyx ring. He won the bid and paid right away. I shipped the ring and it was received. Three days later I got a dispute from the buyer that the weight was off on the ring. I had no intention of getting into a pissing match of who's scales were wrong, mine or his, so I just asked him to return the item and I would refund the purchase amount.
The guy was a jeweler. Prior to sending the complaint, he had already removed the stone, ground away identifying initials on the inside of the band, cleaned it, added a different stone, and listed the item for sale ON HIS EBAY LISTINGS for Buy it Now. Therefore, he could not return the ring to me in the condition it was sold so I could refund his payment. I saw the ring on his listings and filed a claim against him to halt sale of the ring until our issue could be resolved.
I contested his claim against me and it went to mediation or whatever it is called with an Ebay rep. After several days of back-and-forth with the rep and the buyer, I won the claim.
But, his negative feedback remained and I was told that Ebay couldn't remove it, even though the whole deal was proven to be a sham.
That was my first negative feedback. I had one other who was almost as big an a-hole as that guy.

I had a lot of stuff left over from our last house move a couple of years ago and decided to sell all of it on EBay. I always advertise as buyer pays shipping and sell items that can be shipped USPS flat rate box/envelope or less You have to be patient and deal with tons of low ball offers. I eventually sold all the items. My most unusual sale was a pair of hand held marine radios to somebody in France that cost them twice as much in shipping than the price they paid for the radios.

Never sold anything, but I wish ebay had a counter that adds and totals up all I've ever spent on there so I could know.

I remember the good ole days of sending cash through the mail before Paypal.
