Axelrod on CNN right now: “Donald Trump has at worst a 50/50 shot at getting re-elected”

If he’s admitting that (and he’s usually pretty good at just talking about the mechanics of a campaign) then look out....

Reality TV show Apprentice host Donald Trump as a two term President of the United States with the best economy ever in American history would've been unthinkable and absolutely laughable in the summer of 2015.
It was practically a meme at that point.

Did he say who he thought might have a 50% chance of defeating him?

The path to a second term for Trump is wide open for him. He just needs to weather the ongoing attacks that will continue. I think most Dems with half a brain know they are going to lose.
If I'm them, I'd pretty much concede 2020 and groom or find some viable candidates for 2024. As far as I can see, their bench is a pile of leftist shite.

I opposed him during the 2016 GOP primaries, didn't trust him because he had no conservative record to speak of, he had a history of supporting democrats and anyone can throw bombs like he did, and I absolutely hated how he treated conservatives I respect like absolute trash.
I far preferred guys like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.
However, Trump in the general election got my vote because SCOTUS was at stake, Hilary Clinton was the democrat nominee who I absolutely loathe and we needed to get illegal immigration under control.
I voted against Hillary in 2016. I will be voting for Trump in 2020. The man deserves a second term after the way his first went.

Are we staking this claim due to the unemployment rate?

Democrats would do better to focus on picking up congressional seats than Donald Trump.

Dems could steal the election with dead voters, voters who are committed to insane asylum and voters who don't speak English but are driven to a polling center and handed a ballot with the promise of a Green Card.

Trump is going to win in a blowout. I am not a fan of his personality, but I am of his policy. The dems had a layup this election and completely imploded on themselves. They will run someone that has no shot at beating him.

So true - I have never been so gloriously wrong in my life --> not that I ever disagreed with a single one of his policy agenda = I was enthusiastically supportive of every one of them
I just didn't think he was a serious person - knew nothing about him except = 'rich NYer with a TV show I had never watched" It was all personal revulsion at his 'style' - and I thought he was the only one that HRC could beat - I felt the media was setting him up as the weakest opponent for her.
I am the most 180 deg reversal on the board = he has surpassed the venerable Reagan in my mind considering the head wind he has had to survive.
I pray for his continued success
