Find a local repair shop with mechanics that are ASE certified. They will scan the computer for the codes. Unless under warranty avoid a dealer at all costs. As a reminder, the Service Advisor at any dealership is charged with up-selling you every time you bring in your vehicle for service. They are salesmen for services and if he/she isn't up-selling they won't be employed long. So they always are trying to up-sell you alignments, shocks, engine/transmission flushes,tune-ups, etc. Their job is to get you to allow the shop to do more work on your vehicle than what really is needed.

My buddy’s dad bought a 2019 F150 King Ranch 5.0 and after 6 months the engine blew. It’s been in and out the shop since he bought it.

I had one of those lights come up in a 2007 Tundra. I also had to replace the drive shaft at the same time and had about 75 K miles on the truck. Toyota fixed the check engine light problem as if the truck was in warranty. The repair would have been upwards of 2 thousand. The drive shaft did set me back over a grand though. Go Toyota! Sorry I don't remember what the repair was but they had to take the engine apart to repair it.

My light was on for 8 years and my current car it’s been on for about 3 years.

My ford lasted 17 years and 270,000+ miles.
