This time it's not the Babylon Bee. It's CNN. Although now that I think about it, is there really a difference other than the fact that Babylon Bee is smarter and funnier?

CNN Analyst Joe Lockhart, aka Baron Von Douchebag

CNN political analyst and former Clinton White House official Joe Lockhart admitted on Wednesday that he made up a conversation between two Republican senators that he claimed were stunned about what they were learning during President Donald Trump’s Senate trial.
Lockhart tweeted: “Overheard convo between two Republican Senators who only watch Fox News. ‘is this stuff real? I haven’t heard any of this before. I thought it was all about a server. If half the stuff Schiff is saying is true, we’re up shite’s creek. Hope the White House has exculpatory evidence.[‘]”
After some time passed, Lockhart added a second tweet to his first tweet, writing, “Ok maybe I made up the convo, but you know that’s exactly what they’re thinking.”

truly an astounding story. Fake news is one thing.. opinion, lean, spin, omission, angle... we are used to that.
But to outright fabricate a conversation between two JURORS in a trial... how does he still have a job?

Babylon Bee with a marvelously on-point reply, as usual.

Not only did he fabricate a conversation, he fabricated the context and meaning of the made up conversation.

I love our press: neutral finders of fact!
CNN has less credibility than the Enquirer

Looks like he went all in to make himself look even less credible

Don't question our credibility. We tell you the news and you accept it.

Can't believe I didn't pick up on this earlier, but even in his wildest fantasy, made up conversation, he can only give Schiff credit for telling the truth half the time.

I've been wondering the same thing about Schiff and his fabricated phone call read into the Congressional record. I'm pretty sure that's a crime.

fter some time passed
ETA: I checked - looks like it was 9 minutes. That's too fricking long. If he wanted to make some stupid joke, then you have to post the second bit IMMEDIATELY.
I'll bet what he did here was wait to see the reaction and then decided it was too hot to handle. Scummy.

Chuck Schumer is making this same assertion, nearly word for word.
Just heard him say the same thing on the radio.

He claims it was satire but it was a piss poor attempt at it. Most honest and reasonable people would delete and move on instead of letting it stay their and let it get retweeted 10,000 times.

But but but...he was just kidding, guys.

10. Again, for those in the back who maybe can't hear me even if I'm just typing, this is Satire and Parody and that last sentence was SARCASM. Man this stuff is brutal to have to listen to. Is this stuff real? I haven't heard any of this before.

“Satire” without markings is him trying to push a narrative and getting told in no uncertain terms he is full of shite.
Someone like Colbert or Stewart can get away with this through the “clown nose on” crap. Not a CNN employee.

That's one clip I'd like to see the defense play and absolutely eviscerate Schift.
