Hey Aaron, when you die...nothing happens.

Does that make you feel better?

I don’t care about his religious beliefs, but this is fixed this for accuracy.

There will be very little excuse for outright atheism imho. Even demons know GOD exists. Maybe agnostics will get some mercy I hope. I’m personally beginning to think John Calvin was/is right about predestination and GOD chooses you not the other way round. Regardless of what we do or don’t do it’s determined already our fate when we perish. I just hope those that are not selected get annihilated rather that punishment eternally.

It would be kind of shitty for a god to punish non-believers for eternity when he doesn't provide any proof that he exists.

Yea I can definitely relate to your sentiments I share them. My humble argument to the Almighty is I don’t remember volunteering to come to earth. I’m the dude from Paradise Lost that looks to the Heavens and asks “did I ask the Creator to form me of clay”? I didn’t procreate and force anybody else to come here that’s for sure.

The hell doctrine has ppl beliving in God out of fear of eternal torture and other ppl reject God bc of this same reason.

There is a great argument that hell is actually place of destruction. The bible says the wages of sin is death. It does not say the wages of sin is eternal conscious torment in a place with torture devices. Eternal torment does not jive with an all-loving God.

I think the ultimate punishment for the unrelenting rejection of God is to simply no longer exist, eternally/forever.

Pretty much what the Sisters of Mercy told us in Catholic school.

As far as climate change goes, I am not a scientist, but I did have a beer or two with one in an airport bar. Guy worked for DARPA and he was a biologist. Basically he said "That shite is real". Don't shoot the messenger.

.. And his family is "dismayed" at his recent comments regarding religion and his worldview and not how they brought him up.

Aaron Rodgers has been estranged from his family members for years, and now they are reportedly appalled by comments he previously made about his religious upbringing to girlfriend Danica Patrick.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback admitted he has struggled to believe in a higher power on Patrick's "Pretty Intense" podcast last month. Now, a source told People Rodgers' family is offended by his religious comments.
"They were dismayed," a source told the magazine.
"To them, his comments are basically a slap in the face to the fundamentals of who they are."

"I don't know how you can believe in a God who wants to condemn most of the planet to a fiery hell," Rodgers continued. "What type of loving, sensitive, omnipresent, omnipotent being wants to condemn his beautiful creation to a fiery hell at the end of all this?"

The star quarterback added that religion can cause a divide.
"Religion can be a crutch," Rodgers continued, according to the magazine. "It can be something that people have to have to make themselves feel better. Because it's set up binary, it's us and them, saved and unsaved, heaven and hell, it's enlightened and heathen, it's holy and righteous...that makes a lot of people feel better about themselves."

The tension between the professional football star and his family was highlighted on a previous season of "The Bachelorette" when his estranged brother, Jordan Rodgers, was competing for JoJo Fletcher's love.

Rodgers reportedly stopped communicating with his family near the end of 2014, around the time he began dating actress Olivia Munn.

1. God does not send anyone to hell; He made hell for Lucifer and his followers. He sent His Son Jesus to die on the Cross for our sins so we WON'T go to hell. However, He has given us free will; if we reject Christ, we go to hell; in essence, we send ourselves to hell.

2. Yes, I go to church, and I am a drummer for two churches who plays both black gospel style music (fun and challenging to play) and mainstream music. No, I am not one of those people who go to church on Sundays, then act like a jerk on all other days. Yes, I don't always hit the mark and I've written stuff on here I shouldn't.

That said:

I'm not offended by Rodger's remarks; what he believes is his choice. The family might be offended because they know that this is a dig at them, that Aaron said these things to demean them. This whole boy-being-estranged-from-his-family-thanks-to-his-girlfriend-or-wife has played out millions of times.

Honestly, he sounds like my youngest sister. We were all raised in church, but she moved back to Hawaii. She's likes to drink, smoke weed, do who-knows-what-else, and is a lesbian (or so she says). She says pejorative things about God and Christians, mainly to try and offend us; however, we can see right through it (shock value). We are estranged, but that is her choice and not mine. We'll reach out to her, and we would welcome her back, but she wants to live her own life, and that's okay. She makes a ton of wrong choices, and she wonders why she struggles in relationships, financially, and health-wise (Not saying that Aaron does, or anyone who thinks like Aaron does - many are well off financially, but aside from that, not so much).

Sometimes, families are very dysfunctional, and being estranged is a good thing, though. Aaron Rodgers, though rich and famous appears to be a miserable person, just like Patrick Reed. Not because they are estranged, but because of the people that they have become. Financial wealth and happiness are most definitely not mutually exclusive.
