Nebraska running that style offense would not have a chance against LSU this season.
That Miami team had unreal NFL talent from that roster.
I would take LSU over Nebraska and it would be a close game and victory with Miami.
Will be interesting to see how this LSU team does on NFL rosters over the next couple of years.

Simulator I used had 2019 LSU beating 2001 Miami on a neutral field 34-27. Burrow was the game MVP (shocker). 2019 LSU 34, 2001 Miami 27 - Box Score
The simulator only goes back to 1996, but it has 2019 LSU beating 1997 Nebraska (which went 13-0) by a score of 55-13 on a neutral field. 2019 LSU - 55, 1997 Nebraska - 13 — Box Score
A different simulator I used had us beating 2004 USC 13 out of 16 simulated games, with 6 of the 13 wins being by 20+ points. Zero of USC’s three wins was by a 20+ point margin. 2019 LSU vs 2004 USC
ETA: Just for fun: 2019 LSU - 34, 2019 Ohio State 20 — Box Score

Excellent graphic. I'm wondering what the next team would be, maybe one of the USC teams?

I’ve been running simulations (see above). With one simulator I still haven’t found a team that beats 2019 LSU. The other I just used against 2004 USC, and it had LSU winning 13 of 16 on a neutral field, with six wins by 20+ points.

The freaking Nebby team was scarry good on offense and defense. I would love to see that match-up. It would be an epic battle.
Jesus don't refer to them as "Nebby".

I’m wondering if LSU can break Miami’s record of first round draft picks. I think they had 7.
This is the main reason many considered the '01 Canes tGOAT. They may have been the most loaded/stacked team of all time, but the most talented =/= the best or most impressive/successful.

That entire 2001 Miami team had a total of 17 first round draft picks from the 2002-2006 drafts. Their highest in one draft was 6 first rounders in the 2004 draft.

Nebraska did not have corners or safeties that could have covered the LSU receivers. LSU would have had a track meet on offense Nebraska did beat a very good Florida team.. Burrow was/is far better than Weurful. .
LSU would have had trouble stopping the Nebraska run game. But they were mostly one dimensional.
That Miami team got beat the next year by a very good not great Ohio State team.
Dorsey was not a good enough QB to challenge the LSU defense. Maybe Frazier was but again a one dimensional, offense will not work in today’s game.
There is no answer to this. We won in 2019 that is all we need to know..

I say they'll beat Nebraska by 20+. Huskers would be SOL if they fell behind early......they couldn't throw.

Tho Nebraska didn’t play nearly as tough a schedule
they played 4 teams that finished in the top 10 but played 3 less games. 2 of the extra games were the SEC CG and the playoff. If Nebraska had those that would be 2 more top 10 games. They are the only team that could come close the LSU's resume.

Miami doesn’t belong with the other two. They could of lost two games to teams that had half their talent. Nebraska was the most dominant team I’ve ever seen, but didn’t have the resume we had. The Game has changed, so counting stats should not be used.
