How is he recruiting?
I know we have a bunch of good recruiters but every little bit helps.

Is the man not allowed to ask a question on a message board? Damn dude. People just love to be the funny guy and get a few upvotes. I’ve been wondering the same.

I'm thinking the same thing because I honestly can't remember.

This board is ripe with smart-assed class clowns.

He's about the same level as Dave from what I remember.

We don't need to have a good recruiter at DC fwiw

If you’ve been wondering the same then you’re obviously 12 years old. You don’t remember pelini at all do you?

Perhaps a willing recruiter but not particularly known as a good recruiter.

Pelini was not a great recruiter, was simply not his thing. But at the same time, Aranda and Chavis were not exactly hotshot recruiters either. Pelini was a great tactician, excellent DC, but didn't have the personality as a head coach to deal with the media.

Orgeron is at least twice the recruiter that most HCs are, I think that makes a big difference.

You tell O what you want your players to look like, and he will go get them. You just need to have a valid scheme.

It really is. Probably get a chubby once they get 20 upvotes for a smartass response. I ignore it, but it really is annoying as frick when you’re seeing it on every single thread and i’m sure it drives people that just wanna talk football to not post.

Not the best up front but he was reportedly a great closer.

I don’t think your coordinators need to necessarily be great recruiters. Just be competent and able to sell your vision. Let the position coaches do the day to day stuff.

LSU has an advantage not many schools have. They have one of the absolute best recruiters in the country as the head coach who can make up for any shortcomings you may have in the coaching staff when it comes to recruiting

I have no reason to doubt O’s decisions. Especially with the new AD behind him. With our athletes and a nice salary, O should be able to get whomever he wants. I think the bigger concern is bringing someone in who fits in with the other coaches, the players and fits the “one heart beat” environment.

Lets see...

In 2019's class, there was the #6 ILB, Christian Harris, a highly ranked 4 star at U High on LSU's campus in BR, LA... Harris did not play LB in HS...he played both ways at CB and WR...

Harris went to A1abama and started as a true freshman @ ILB in 2019 for the Crimson Tide...

Aranda is said to have "preferred" Kendall McCallum (over Harris) - a big, slow, hard hitting 3 star from A1abama, ranked #27 ILB

VolTiger said that because Harris refused to "try-out" for Aranda, Aranda was not going to offer at ILB, but LSU offered at a position that Harris "DID NOT WANT TO PLAY...how about them apples?" VolTiger also said that you could not blame Aranda because the kid did not want to try out... Now that's what I call a RECRUITER!!! Sarcasm to the MAX!!!

McCallum washed out of 2019 fall camp, after 2 or 3 days, and has never been seen again on LSU's campus...

Harris, on the other hand, started all 13 games as a TRUE FRESHMAN (for LSU's "Arch Rival" A1abama) and was voted onto the SEC’s All-Freshman Team!!!

In 2020, Harris will be starting at ILB, right next to another Baton Rouge, LA native, Dylan Moses, a 5 (FIVE) star ILB Aranda lost..

The recruiting board said this was a "genius move" by Aranda and that McCallum was better than Harris and "the Bomb" at ILB...the "know-it-alls" on the Recruiting Board said that anyone that disagreed with them, VolTiger, Cadello,,Captain Crown, many others too numerous to remember, and Aranda, was a moron and idiot...I count myself in the latter group...I wonder who was proved right?

Also,

in 2019, U High had a 4 star #8 OLB, Bryton Constantin, that Aranda let go to Clemson...

So, in 2019, I didn't care for Aranda's "recruiting", if you could call it that...

I'm no insider, but from what I gather, reading between the lines, Aranda is a great DC, great talent evaluator, but shitty recruiter...If I had to bet how it would go down, after Aranda evaluated, he would tell Corch Eaux, Corey Raymond, and other corches who he wanted, and they all would put a team effort on selling LSU recruits.

If I'm wrong, bring the proof...Aranda may struggle in closing the deal with many recruits at Baylor...TIFWIW...my analytical opinion...

And, just in case you forgot, Aranda was not only the DC at LSU, he was the position corch for ILBs & OLBs...
