Says that one proposal later this month is for all private schools to reapply for membership... then basically calls out a school in Lafayette in this article.

If the public schools don’t like a Curtis or LCA, just beat them, but they employ too many deadheads and good ol boys to do so

Sounds like the schools that are blatantly abusing the rules will be kicked out

Then they want to divide the sponsorship money equally between schools... I’m thinking every school in the association and not just the schools at a championship event will get a cut. They should split the differences and only cut in programs who get to a certain point. Schools that will never go to the Dome shouldn’t share in the money from it

There is no criteria for readmission. It’s an extremely scary prospect for all Louisiana High Schools. The Executive Committee basically gets to decide whether a school is in or out based on nothing.

Ridiculous.

I foresee major legal implications if this passes.

Also this is blatantly false:

quote:

At the end of the day, based on the numbers I have there are 93 private schools, 56 of them want to remain with the association (based on past survey results).

He’s using a survey the LHSAA sent out asking the privates schools if they wanted the LHSAA to use their 4.4.4 power to overrule the split championship site proposal passed last year and hold all nine championships in the Dome. In order for that to happen, 100% of private schools had to agree. 56 voted to let the LHSAA to use 4.4.4 to overrule the bylaws, a few voted no, and most of the rest didn’t vote because getting 100% was impossible.

It had nothing to do with remaining in the association.

Are the privates seriously considering forming their own association?

No, not at all.

That’s the whole problem.

maybe that’s why they didn’t want to stack it with members based on the 5 select divisions lol

The split is a done deal. They need to give up trying to put it back together and start trying to make that scenerio work. Leaving publics with 5 classes a d selects with 4 divisions are solely to make it look ridiculous with the hopes they can convince people to put it back together.

They need to if the association doesn’t get back together. The private schools foot the bill for everything in the post season, and the LHSAA did nothing but stand there with their hand out for their cut.

It’s a joke. Form your own association and invite the public’s. Start from scratch.

2 of the proposals have a high chance of passing with some slight modifications..
