Will O allow new DC to bring in all new defensive staff if that is what he wants or will we try to keep as much continuity as possible? Im thinking O will want to keep as much current staff as possible but I'm not in the know at all.

I think most DCs wouldn't get to bring anyone unless we have a spot open (Busch) and Orgeron likes the replacement.

Nah Chief it don’t work like that. You get in where you fit in at LSU.

Hell no. He will have basically very little say in anything, other than being told "don't screw it up!"

I think the OP is confusing DC with HC. The HC more often will clean house and bring in his own guys. Not so much when assistants come in while there is continuity at HC.

We’ll have LB or Safeties position coach open and Dline. I’m sure O is willing to at least hear out who his new DC wants to bring in. Raymond obv untouchable

its situational, in this case i think not because the defense as a whole was good

now if the defense was terrible and is getting its arse handed to it on the regular all year, then yes i think everyone involved would be of the mindset to make wholesale changes

They won't be allowed to overhaul the defensive staff. But I'm sure they will be allowed to bring in shadow staffers.

No, but he will certainly have input.

If he doesn't, he probably wouldn't accept the job.

Beung held accountable for results when you dont have a say in the people you depend on isn't attractive.

I think the situation is like this: When a coach inherits a staff that didn’t have the school going anywhere they may retain a coach that’s doing well but they’ll usually clean house. We’re replacing a DC and on the up. If Busch leaves we’ll have a safeties and linebackers coaching Job available and we’ll see how the DC and O fill it out. If it’s Kris Richard he may want to coach Safeties himself.

That's usually more of a Head Coach thing. Now If there were a problem area I'm sure they let Coordinators bring staff. But LSU is fine with their staff.

Not replacing Raymond or Busch...I can see him bringing in new DL or LB coach.
