An earlier thread was belittling a bunch of us for superstitions regarding how we approach an LSU game. Well. . . eff dat. I ain't SUPERstitious, but as I've said before, I am indeed at least a little bit 'stitious.
What are some of your superstitions or your regular routines leading up to a big Tiger game?
For me, it's:
1) I NEVER bet on an LSU game. NEVER. EVER. It has cost my Tigers every single time in the past. I would rather LSU win than for me to have an opportunity at some easy pickings.
2) I refuse to ever again wear the LSU jersey I wore in the stands as a student on that rainy night on Nov, 19, 1988. That was undoubtedly the reason we got drubbed 44-3 in miserable weather, and I apologize for that. It was totally my fault.
3) I do indeed still wear the old, and now well-aged, shirt I wore at the Earthquake Game every time LSU and Auburn play. It works most times, but there have been a few hiccups which I attribute to possibly wearing the wrong brand socks or the wrong color underwear. Need to do some more research in this respect. I'm reviewing notes now.
Anyway, it'd be neat to read what some of my fellow Tigers hold as traditions or superstitions prior to a game like this.
Also, my new "Burreaux" jersey is due in the mail tomorrow prior to game time. Should I wear it for the game, or not take the chance since it hasn't properly been "tested out" in non-critical games yet?

I would hang the Jersey in the living Room or wherever you're going to watch the game but wear what you wore a when we beat the heck out of Oklahoma

I don't watch a game with full balls. I drain those puppies to the max, I'm talking prostate play. After that I'm ready for war

you must be a garbage handicapper then. i have not lost on LSU yet this year.
maybe you should make safer plays.
you need a big bankroll but LSU made me plenty this year just on the ML and not spread. made a ton on vandy and arky. just be safe. stay away from tougher plays per your risk tolerance.

I’ve got a purple and gold scarf and gold shoes I wore from game one this year. Definitely have to wear that. I forgot to wear my tiger ears this year, but decided since we were winning I wasn’t gonna mess with the good juju! GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I haven’t changed my tiger toenail polish since Texas. There’s only a strip of purple left on the big toes. It’s killing me but I’ve been threatened with death by all family if I change it. I can’t wait to come back from NOLA and get them freshly painted again.

The ENTIRE outfit is on a hangar in the closet. I have deemed it my “playoff outfit”. It’s 1-0

This is not why LSU lost. That's complete nonsense.

I'm not throwing away my toothpaste until the game is over. I've had to open a new tube, but still not throwing the empty one away until Tuesday.

I completely understand traditions and superstitions to feel like you're part of the team. What I don't get is when people actually think it impacts the outcome of the game.

Don’t you kinda feel like Batman putting it on, like it’s your “superhero puttin’ the suit on” montage?

Just me? Ok fine.

I have a spot on my couch in the den I never sit except for Tiger games. I drink one 16oz. beer every quarter. I open it on the first snap of each quarter and drain it the last play of each quarter.
My wife thinks I'm nuts.

That last sip must be nasty.

My wife played "callin baton rouge" first thing on game day while my daughter dances to it

I would never, but my spouse has bet with friends from opponents' teams and we always get into heated discussions about that. That's A BIG Neaux-Neaux for me
