While that is one case that I guess you can say it was worth it, most of the time it is not. What I see is unions protecting the lazy who don't do their jobs. They had their time and were effective. Now, not so much.

Getting fired doesnt entitle you to getting unfired just because you belong to a union. Employers should be able to fire you.
I worked at a union plant but wasn't in the union. I saw several people fired for damn good reason and then show back up a few months later.
