Looking to pull out fiberglass tub/shower and replace with walk in shower. Do not want to deal with tile and grout sealing, cleaning, etc. Anyone have experience with solid surface showers such as the Kohler LuxStone or similar product ? Just looking at all options at this point.

Tile is terrible. I would be interested in the replies you get. I want to rip mine out.

I’m in the process of pulling out my solid tub walls and putting in tile. The cultured marble slabs started warping and pulling away from the wall they were glued to about five years after we moved into the house.

They looked fine though, just kind of bland.

I am a fan of Marbella stone products. It's basically Marbella like was used in the 70s and 80s, but rather than swirled paint, they take granite waste and press it in the resin. That's a time tested product with very little maintenance and way less leak possibilities than tile. It's gotten really popular also just in plain white with no swirl. It's less than a custome shower and if a freestanding tub is the centerpiece, people are doing these as a secondary. I also put a lot of shower floors in and then tile walls. The floors and curbs are way way les likely to leak.

I have some on the web. Go to mybuildercares.com and check out the gallery. There are quite a few pics of different styles of the marbella and marbella floor with tile walls.

I’ve got solid surface in a large master shower that sees heavy use. It’s white, no swirls or patterns, and it cleans like a dream. No grout to scrub, minimal seams to potentially leak. 6+ years, it still looks brand new. That said, if you aren’t good at cleaning and use bar soap in an area with hard water, it can look bad pretty quickly.

The older Kohler product, Choreograph, had mostly good reviews. Not sure of the new LuxStone. I'd check Houzz forum for reviews. Swanstone and Corian get good reviews too.

We ended up replacing a builder fiberglass insert with FlexStone wall panels. Reasonably priced, easy install, looks great.
