Avoiding fake tickets

is there any way to tell if you are getting fake tickets? (Hologram etc). I have some friends that bought fake Saints tickets the other day.
I will be in New Orleans for game and am debating on getting tickets from a scalper. We got great seats for the 2007 game a couple of hours before the game. I’m not sure if it’s worth the risk these days.

Dude, there aren't many hard tickets for this game. Buy them online.
If you don't want to pay the fees for online, buy from someone on the ticket exchange board.

If you buy a ticket on game day, buy it as close to the dome as possible. The low lifes usually stay out on the perimeter.

Ticketmaster or stubhub .....guaranteed tix.

You can always ask them to bring it to the gates and have them scan it. Usually, if the person is trying to sell fakes, they'll come up with some BS excuse why they can't or don't want to go up there. If someone has real tickets they're trying to get off of, they usually don't have an issue doing something to ensure to the buyer that they're not fake, especially when it's close to game time and they're running out of time to sell the tickets.

All tickets are digital. No physical tickets

And since everything is digital, you'll need to download the CFP app so they can transfer the tickets.

Fake tickets will have either “FAKE” or “NOT REAL” written on them. It’s easy to spot.

Don't buy from the dude that can tell you where you got your shoes.

Look buddy, it is not 2007 anymore. The people walking around selling tickets are professional scalpers. Some are legit but you are going to be uneasy buying tickets from them.
Then “walking you in the game” is not really a thing. They have more tickets to sell. You may not be walking directly into the game.
The average Joe with an extra ticket is listing it online in some form or fashion. No one is wasting time walking around with a ticket in their hand. Not in 2020.

Actually, a friend of mine did just that during the 2012 Natty in New Orleans. Made the "scalper" walk to the gate with him and didn't give him the money until the ticket taker accepted the ticket.
I didn't think a scalper would do that but this guy did. It was very close to kickoff.
