People I know or work with here in New Orleans, who otherwise never go to LSU games, are asking me if I know anybody with tickets.

"Hey Slippy, I have a client in Atlanta who is looking for tickets. Can you hook him up?"

"Hey Slippy, do you know anybody with extra tickets?"

"Hey Slippy, how much are tickets? Like $200 each?"

They have no idea what they cost, or what the demand is, or how ridiculous they sound. Time for you bandwagoning motherfrickers to crawl back in your hole of obliviousness.

lifelong LSU fans and season ticket holders are looking for tickets. problem is that the game is priced so the common person can't go to the game.

I'd love to go, but not for $2,000 to sit in the terrace in the Superdome... I mean, shite.

Even some of us who are not bandwagoners are looking. I’ve had my season tickets for 5 years and still missed the cut.

Couldn’t agree more. Makes it both a blessing and a curse living here during this time. Waking up to a national championship in our backyards worth it though.

I am hoping that all of the LSU fans who want tickets find a way to get them. We need to fill the dome and get loud.

I am having a hard time justifying dropping 2+ grand for a couple of tickets.

The same people who would never pay a season ticket holder face value for a regular season game call them scalpers for asking over face for this game. LOL.

My parents have had season tickets since I was 6 years old. I've maybe missed 5 or 6 games since 2000. 25 now and I've never been to a National Championship Game. I would do just about anything to be in that dome on January 13th. It's ashame that rich a-holes/bandwagon fans with money that haven't been to a game in years will be in there and not the die hard fans that go to almost every game.

If your parents have had tickets that long, how did they not make the cutoff?

There are no "bandwagon fans." There are only fans. LSU has room to accept more fans.

You do know that there are some “...die hard fans that go to almost every game ...” who are well off but not a-holes, right?

I've only had them for two years plus have donated some money (not really a lot) to the university (not to mention having 2 kids at LSU). Also missed out.

I see people who said they made the cut already trying to sell tickets at a significant profit.

All of this is the nature of modern college athletics.

I do know that. Which is why I put those 2 together. Rich a-holes that never go to games but will be going to this one bc LSU is playing for a national title. But if we were in the Outback Bowl, they wouldn't even be interested.

Honestly, I'd rather even those people than selling tickets to Clemson fans. We have enough weapons as it is to take Clemson, but I want that dome to be LOUD to have yet another weapon!

The tickets for any given year are the asset of the ticket holder acquired through the established ticketing process of the TAF. They're not community property and you can't claim ownership or the rights thereto on the basis of being "a long-time fan". The idea that someone thinks they have a right to tell the asset owner how to dispose of his asset is beyond the pale and overreaching. This short-straw, poor me, johnny-come-lately mindset would make interesting subject matter for a psychology class.

You get these once in a lifetime tickets for being a real fan and LSU supporter. You take something tangible (cash) that you've acquired through your own blood, sweat, and tears and transfer it to LSU - EVERY YEAR - not just in Championship years. You don't get refunds in crappy years. You write huge checks, months in advance, just for the right to buy tickets at face value. Do the fair-weather fans ever put aside their envy and ignorance and do the math on how much those "Face Value" tickets actually cost? Accumulated over time? The process is and has been open to everyone. It's not some mystical secret society.

To those who conveniently want to hop on the train that's already left the station and now want to convert the ticketing system to a perverted form of football socialism just for showing up, I leave you with this from our old pal, Sir Winston Churchill: “Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.”

There are us that have watched 90% or more of LSU games in the last decade, suffering through the back half of the Miles years. And then there are those that occasionally watch and talk about LSU in passing.

Those fans are not the same
