A lot of the outcome depends on if the chimps know/realize its a fight to the death. If the humans attack one chimp and the others back away, whether afraid or just getting out of the way, the humans would definitely win. If the chimps know their lives are at stake, then idk.

Only way the lineman win is if they bring a few white womens along

I worked at LSU Medical center about 30 years ago. There were stories about 20 years prior to my time about a full grown chimp that got out of its cage in the old medical center next to Charity and tossed a 55 gallon drum of floor wax down a hallway and it ripped open. That's over 500 pounds. Then he managed to get in an elevator and a woman got some fingers bitten off. The Rhesus monkeys I worked around were crazy strong (and had seriously big teeth). They could tear up 1/2" lexan lab equipment made to hold them with ease. These monkeys are all way more than 1.35 times equivalent.

hippo here.
Put me down for Cape buffalo. I’d ten times rather encounter a chimp than one of those mean bastards. Although I’m sure one of those hairless chimps could just snap it’s neck or tear its horns out of its head and stab the buffalo to death no problem.
ETA after a close encounter with them this squirrel season and only .22 with subsonic bullets in my hand put me down for wild hogs also
300lbs of muscle, shield, and mean wrapped up with a layer of fat and wirey tough hide.
I’ve fooled with them in traps and shot plenty from the stand but that was the first time I ever got amongst a group on the ground with nothing between us.

For the few people saying chimps would lose...
Chimps don’t care about death. Only fighting to live. They don’t care about scars or their faces being chewed on.
The linemen do. Chimps win because they dgaf.

This a crazy example of how strong monkeys/apes really are.
360 lb Sumo vs. 180 lb orangutan
The chimps would destroy even 5 grownass men.

The 1.35 was just a study done on the muscle itself. Basically if a muscle in the chimp was the exact same as a muscle of a human, the chimp would be 1.35 times stronger. It’s not taking into account anything else.
So basically if you took a human finger and swapped the muscle fiber for the makeup of a chimps muscle, the human finger would become 1.35 times stronger.
