Major Burns will hurt.
Jalen Lee wasn't nice, but we are stacked inside now at Dline.

Why? One position we never hurt at in recruiting is DB.

I honestly feel there was more to it with the guys that went elsewhere than our staff simply counting on getting better players. Of course that would be part of it, but scheme fit and depth has to come into play too. That said I liked Lee a lot too.

I know that we are all smarter than BeBe. I know that we all know more about football than BeBe. BUT HEY, none of us knows more about, or is better at, recruiting than BeBe. That's just a fact. The first two were just sarcasm.
Therefore, I'm willing to defer to him on recruiting and processing decisions. It's not like the outcome of the decision is immediately apparent to everyone on live television, like screwing up a Time Out opportunity at the end of a game.

You can never have enough dlinemen

It's a slippery slope. You have much higher rated guys telling you that they want in. It is not fair to the lower ranked player to not tell him where he stands. You can be a douche and wait until signing day to let the kid know he didn't make it because higher ranked players wanted in, but that wouldn't be a good way to build a reputation. We rolled the dice that these higher ranked kids were shooting straight and we lost. I don't blame LSU for taking that risk. If they are telling you they are coming than the odds are definitely in your favor. Sometimes it just doesn't work out the way you expect.

As long as O maintains a good relationship with the coaches and this doesn't happen often it will be fine. Heck, even tell the coaches straight up he made a mistake. I'm sure they'll appreciate the honesty.

With processing 4 guys, he was personally told by 22 people that they were coming. What is so hard to understand about this? He isn't signing people for the sake of signing people.

Well, frankly it just didn’t even seem necessary. We only signed 19 today.

Lee is going to be good. To me that was the miss.

That is false. In 2011 we had enough dlinemen.

You can definitely have too many DTs. That’s what we have. A lot of those and WDE/OLBs but not many SDEs to speak of... it’s even getting to the point where we’re bringing DTs off the edge in our 4 man front

Remember wen Fulton was hurt against A&M and we were playing Terrence Alexander and Netherly against A&M?
Or did that never happen?

Yeah only 19 but our thoughts were that it would be at least 21, Burton/Jarrett, maybe 22 if you count Cam'ron Jackson.
Burch, Evans and Kennedy were recruitments that didn't or haven't gone our way. The flips, which none of us really were accounting for, make the numbers seem off. However they are essentially where we started in terms of the cutting of kids. Burton and Jarrett don't account for any of the cut kids. We just missed on all the up in the air kids and didn't expect to.

Why?
Because of the Malcolm Greene flip.
I'm just going to say it - we are running low on safeties. That's a literal fact.

1. How many safeties are currently on the team?
2. Assuming Delpit leaves early, how many safeties will be on the team next year?
At least 1 or 2 wide receivers will have to switch to safety over the off-season.
(ETA: And the other thing - all the safeties except Mo Hampton and Marcel Brooks seem to be juniors, so a huge problem developing where we have to take 3 or 4 safeties in 2021.)

That’s because Miles used to sign 5 every year. Meanwhile Saban was signing fewer and putting the extra spots on his defensive line.
