All information is from 247.
2020 Class Standings:
1st) Clemson, 23 commits, 311.90
2nd) Alabama, 25 commits, 306.01
3rd) Ohio, 26 commits, 300.71
4th) LSU, 22 commits, 298.55
Class History:
2019: 1) Alabama, 317.5 5) LSU, 284.06
2018: 1) Georgia, 323.31 15) LSU, 254.38
2017: 1) Alabama, 323.31 7) LSU, 287.66
2016: 1) Alabama, 302.04 2) LSU, 295.03
2015: 1) Alabama, 311.10 5) LSU, 284.37
2014: 1) Alabama, 319.71 2) LSU, 299.29
2013: 1) Alabama, 319.50 6) LSU, 281.05
2012: 1) Alabama, 313.12 13) LSU, 252.55
2011: 1) Alabama, 298.50 8) LSU, 272.65
2010: 1) Florida, 324.62 9) LSU, 267.84
2009: 1) LSU, 293.15 (GEAUX TIGAHS)
2008: 1) Miami,302.60 (remember when they were relevant?)
LSU, the year of winning the Natty, 13th. 259.67 points
So, whats my point?
Sure, we missed some big fish. A couple escaped from the pond in the backyard. Do we still have a shot at being the top class? Nah. Clemson has the best class, and it's not even close. Which props to the feaux tigers, they play cup cakes, but win titles, and kids are noticing.
So what do we do have? How about a chance to beat out Alabama for the top SEC recruiting class since 2009? How about a dethroning of Alabama's recruiting dynasty? Something that has been a leach on the LSU talent pool for a decade. Who cares if it isn't us at the top. Thats a win. How about the highest recruiting class rating ever for LSU? A chance to break the 300 barrier?
My point is, take a breather. It's been a good day. Stars aren't everything. Just look at all that beef added. All 4,135 lbs of it. And that's just the 17 guys signed as of when I wrote this.

WTF happened in 2012? We were coming off that great season and had one of our worst classes of the era.

How many NCs does Bama have and how many have the played for during that run?
Shut the frick up.
It’s not the do all end all but it sure as frick helps.

How is this relevant. He's pointing out that we have the best class in LSU history already and will add 3 more. Quit worrying about the ones we didn't get.

Don't forget we beat Bama out for several recruits we really needed. LSU has always done a good to great job on the recruiting trail, but the real problem was coaching/player development. I think we have that solved for the next couple of years if we can keep the coaching staff together for that long. Once we show these kids that not only do we attract great talent, but we also make you better than you were before you arrived then I think we win even bigger in recruiting. Showing a trend of success and player development will help more than anything and that just takes time.
Still a great class though and we got a lot of players we really needed at weak spots on the roster.

I'm very stoked about this class and we still have a couple more that are going to sign come February I'm sure. We addressed serious and immediate needs on our team with some damn fine ball players. Great job by coach O and this staff. You know you're program is on the right track when some of your fans complain about signing the number 4 class lol. Geaux Tigers baby!

and the ones that "got away" aren't going to Bama like other years.

You may be the smartest most level poster here with only 5 posts
I guess when you post once a year you store up lots of wisdom

More of a stat head, less of a ranter. Definitely a lurker.
Also, our average Joe is 6' 3.6" and 245 lbs in the 18 recruits signed. NFL average is 6' 2" 245 lbs. Dem some big boys.

Get a grip. You were one of the idiots hating on O earlier this year, and look how that turned out. Quit being a bitch for once.
