John Alario: Louisiana Powerbroker for 48 Years

Whether or not you like the man personally or his politics. John Alario served 48 years in the La. House and Senate from 1971-2019. Nothing has gotten through the legislature without his support since the days of EWE through JBE. This included any state funding earmarked for LSU. So it wasn't surprising to see him sitting beside JBE at the Heisman Awards ceremony. Alario has worked alongside both Democratic and Republican governors.

Sounds like it is time for him to go. Blocking uber for his taxi buddies shows he is in the way of progress imo

Should be strung up for the damage he’s done to this State

He's gone. Didn't seek re-election. Now JBE might appoint or hire him to serve in his administration.

What does Louisiana have to show for it?

frick that crook. He is the epitome of most of what is wrong with this Banana Republic. They he and Bel are buddies is about right
Posted on 12/15/19 at 7:08 pm to boudinman
frick that turd. Serving as a swamp leech for decades in a state ranked last in almost everything is no worthy accomplishment
Posted on 12/15/19 at 7:08 pm to boudinman
frick him, JBE and you if this is some sort of endorsement for the decades of bullshite that have kept this state fricked.

So what. I was around for most of what he did or did not do and his number 1 consideration always was not what is good for Louisiana, but what is good for John Alario.

He was buddies with both Gov. Murphy Foster and Gov. Bobby Jindal as well. Every governor had to cut and make deals with him. That's how government works.

Sucking off the public teat for nearly half a century. Exactly why term limits are needed.
Posted on 12/15/19 at 7:20 pm to Big Jim Slade
Louisiana has them, but they don't work. When they are term limited out, they just run(flip-flop) for the other side of the Legislature. Senator to Representative and Representative to Senator, and the stupid electorate votes them back in.

Screw him. No one that has been a part of our legislative shite show the last 40 years deserves anything but disdain.

He is an awful human. Awful by politician standards.

His own hometown, Westwego, and the area he represents is still poverty stricken after 48 years.

That’s the problem

All this hate for him and yet he keeps getting re-elected. Who is the real problem here?
Posted on 12/15/19 at 7:51 pm to boudinman
And we have shite show for it. He’s a snake in the grass piece of shite that has torpedoed more proper legislation for LA than I can count. I wish him nothing but ill will. We are a laughing stock which is on his shoulders.
