Clean House in Ascension Parish, Cointment!

Time to clean house in Ascension Parish, Clint Cointment! Unfortunately, you can't remove certain corrupt & idiotic council members who consistently put their egos and their own interests ahead of the parish's. Too many endearing relationships developed between the council members, staff and outside engineering firms, vendors, etc.
Moose has been sucking hind-titty too long and Martin McConnel is attached to Matassa by the tongue. William Daniel is an idiot that needed a job desperately and Matassa saw fit to do him a favor. Ken Dawson cannot be trusted and quite frankly, incompetent!
Get rid of all Matassa's buddies who were paid back for their vote to get him elected. And keep a close eye on Lamar Dixon facilities..somewhere there's a RAT!
We've been screwed too long with current council and the sewer deal only smells good to the owners of the companies that once owned them wholly. Bet Matassa and some Council members, both outgoing and current, will get some nice Christmas gifts this year!
Wish you all the success in bringing us back to respectability and efficiency in the way we run!

I think parish wide sewer is a long term need, but I am very skeptical of this deal negotiated by the previous administration.

It’s very expensive, also. Glad I have a septic tank in the only undeveloped area of the parish, St. Amant/Lake Martin.

I grew up in St. Amant. We cannot keep pretending the Parish is still this quaint rural farming community anymore. Gonzales, Prarieville, Dutchtown, and Galvez have developed into sprawling suburbs. There’s over 100k people in Ascension now. We have to get smarter about growth and have to start investing majorly in catching up on overburdened infrastructure. However, we have to be vigilant to make sure we’re getting a good roi on these investments.

I'm on the east end of Hwy 621 near Rouyea Rd and we have septic tanks and water well water here as well. I'd welcome water and sewage if it were offered at a fair price. Absolutely would buy that service.

I voted for Clint to do just this. I hope he keeps his campaign promises. Also, my cousin Chase Melancon just won a seat on the council and he is passionate to create better conditions here. I believe he will do some good. He certainly can't do less there. My area has a new councilman seated as well in Dal Waguespack who beat a long term swamp member Todd Lambert so we hopefully see some improvements here too.

I hope chase does well. I had thought about running for Clouatre’s seat but my family talked me out of it. Everything I heard about Chase was overwhelmingly positive from people I trust, but I don’t really know him.

I’m in Baton Rouge now. I don’t see myself moving back for a while, so I’m probably going to change my voting registration so I don’t have to commute down to vote anymore. I’ve joked about running for mayor/president, but doing so would require me to take a leave of absence from my job, and I know I cannot afford that.
