Aranda Defense - worth keeping?

LSU's total defense rankings past 10 years:
ARANDA YEARS
2019 - #32 in Total Defense
2018 - #25
2017 - #12
2016 - #10
STEELE YEAR
2015 - #25
CHAVIS YEARS
2014 - #9
2013 - #15
2012 - #8
2011 - #2
2010 - #12
LSU can obviously do better at this position, and have in the recent past. Are we headed in the wrong direction? Looks like it on paper.

Of course you're going to give up more yards when you run a passing offense. Your defense is going to be on the field a lot more.
Aranda was a wizard a few years ago, now you ask the question is he worth keeping.
Will you ask the same question next year when Burrow is gone and Brady can't match the production?

What noticeably changed in 2018 and 2019?

Offenses are also much different now in the SEC as opposed to 2010-2013

Aranda is ok but replaceable

Finally, someone with common sense.
I've always gotten the feeling Aranda wasn't maximizing his personnel at LSU. Good, but not great and not as good as it could be.

Lots of people move in the 4th or 5th year at hundreds of thousands of positions across all business sectors. That's about the time they realize that the company is wise to that employee's ceiling and so they bail before it becomes obvious. Not saying Aranda has hit his ceiling, but...
... what if he has? Third and Chavis aside, that man coached some fine defenses. Another year like this and Aranda sets a bad trend.
