What deal would you give Joe Brady....

Money, Title etc.
I would make Joe Brady OC with 2.5 million and a 3 year contract.
Steve Ensminger: QB coach / AHC / OC-Emeritus &
Tommie Robinson: Running Backs/Tight Ends/RC
Mickey Joseph: WR coach
I think whatever money you offer Brady, you got to make him OC, not co-OC etc. I do not think Steve Ensminger would mind.

If there is a way to get FW back on the staff we gotta do it. I’m hoping we can find a spot for him.

If Frank Wilson wants to come back, we need to get rid of Mickey Joseph.

1.8-2.1 million/ more than anyone else offers.
Any title he wants short of HC.

Joseph just got a 2 year extension in May thru 21’
Robinson’s contract is up in March though.

I’m not concerned about the finances as much as the clauses/buyouts written in the contract.

We can't discuss this or else LSU might lose focus.

Not so much "what", but how.
I would get all principal shot-callers together in a large suite in a fine hotel. Brady, Woody, O, E (if needed), agents, lawyers, typists, etc.
Room service for food - cots if you need a nap.
Have the BOS exec committee ready to review and sign.
Don't come out til the deal is done or dead.

I love Brady, but this all reminds me of the Austin Thomas furor.
Pay him if necessary, but be able to get out of it.
He’s in his first year of calling plays, and not as the primary. He has the best QB in football. If he can stay on top with Brennan, then I’m sold.

The contract has been done for a while now at 1.9, the board just has to approve it.

I've not seen confirmation of this. I've only seen speculation. You have a link to a credible source?

I don't think Brady actually calls any plays.
I do believe he is a big part of the offensive turnaround, sure -- but, I agree --- LSU should do what it needs to do to let him know we want him... but you don't mortgage the farm on one year -- as you say, with the best QB in college football.
If LSU wins it all and SE is ready to retire on top - maybe you take a shot at Joe Brady as OC --- but in my opinion you can't pay him stupid money based on 1 year and really little other track record to go on.
I know lots of people will want to throw piles of money at Joe Brady, but if he's smart and he's as good as people think he is --- take a nice raise, stay at LSU and show you can do it without Joe Burrow... take on responsibility for calling plays and see how it goes in a 1 year Co-OC or "OC in waiting" type situation.... if the offense continues to roll --- promote him to OC and have the deal written up in advance.
I realize that's not how many think --- it's "take the money NOW" approach... but I think their are enough lessons about over-spending too soon that should rule the day.

I have no clue if true or false -- but if LSU decides to pay a "passing game coordinator" $1.9 million based on 1 season of tremendous success.... I think it's a risky move.
As other poster stated -- reminds me of the Austin Thomas ordeal. Maybe he was good at his job, but he's not bigger than the program. Neither is Joe Brady.
If O knows that Brady is really the reason the offense is humming along -- then, in private, he and E need to reach an agreement that SE moves out of the OC role and either retires or stays on staff in another capacity. If Brady is instrumental, but SE is still really the guy calling all plays and setting game plans and strategy... then you gotta hang on to Brady, but you need SE and you can't pay Brady anywhere near $1.9 million.
If somebody else will pay him that --- it may come down to you have to let somebody else take that risk.
I'm pretty confident that with a year of film and an entire off-season, a good offensive coach can innovate and copy/evolve what LSU has done this year. But regardless of whether or not it's Joe Brady... LSU will not have Joe Burrow next year -- and that's the real catalyst to the offense... along with CEH and the best group of WR's we've ever had 5 deep.

Would be dumb not to pay it
We are still under budget compared to the other big dogs because O is working for less. God bless that magnificent bastard

Like Frankie and Johnny’s......take Brady to the special man and “let him have it”.

You don’t think that his salary is going up after this season?

I would give Brady a pen and a piece of paper hand it to him and tell him to write out his own contract and I would be back in a half hour to sign it and then leave.
