It's pretty funny reading the ways they think they'd contain Burrow. Spying him, or sending pressure so "he doesn't have time to throw".
Having an elite front 4 like Auburn would be the only prayer they have, if you consider "containing" to be giving up 500+ like they did.

After LSU whooped Oklahoma for the 2003 title, my BIL worked a turnaround there and was treated like shite when he had his LSU gear on.

So, you're gonna equate all Sooner fans with what 3 or 4 idiots on a message board said? ok.
Every fanbase has their idiots, so let clear a few things up.
1. Burrow is the best QB in the country...period. He will win the Heisman and he deserves it.
2. People bagging on LSU's defense stats might want to look closer...a ton of those yards were in meaningless blowouts. LSU's defense looked fine to me vs UGA.
3. To be fair, OU's offense is not UGA either.
4. OU is a top 3 program all-time.
5. LSU is not top 10 all-time.

Unlike fantasy football, a QB doesn't get more points for a Rushing TD than a Passing TD. They still both count as 6.
Contact Merrian-Webster Dictionary. They need to immediately revise their definitions of "more" and "not".

burrow has over 1000 more total yards than Hurts. 30% more passing yards isn't "destroying" someone? and they both have 51TDs on the year. Yeah Hurts has more rushing yards but who gives a crap. Hurts also has 13 turnovers to Burrows 7.

I had the displeasure of interacting with OU fans at the 2003 BCS championship game, plus I have been to several Red River Rivalry games, so I know what I'm talking about.

You guys have already ripped this one apart on the stats, but how about the schedules? Hmm, let's see OU fans... Joe has 5 top 10 wins, has never even come close to being rattled or losing. Hurts' most impressive win is Baylor, which they were in danger of losing to, twice. Then there's the impressive 1 point shootout win vs. Iowa State, the 4 point win to TCU and OH YEAH YOU frickING LOST TO KANSAS STATE. That =/= a heisman. Thanks for playing though.

I was genuinely curious as to the meaning behind their yell of "Boomer Sooner," so I asked a fan on Bourbon Street what it meant.
His reply was, "it means 7 national titles about to be 8." I was merely a guy trying to learn about the traditions of a historic team.
In retrospect, he probably didn't know what it meant.
Also, while traveling back from Florida the following year during bowl season, we ran into OU fans headed down for the BCS game. One of my party, who was wearing a 2003 nation championship shirt, wished them luck against USC, and that fellows reply was "I can't believe you're still celebrating that," or something to that effect, in regards to the shirt.
In regards to the SEC not being known for our defenses, while things have certainly changed in the conference from years past, LSU is ranked 32nd in total defense currently. There are only two Big XII teams ranked above that spot, OU at 24 and TCU at 27. The third best total defense in the Big XII is Baylor at 41. However, there are 8 SEC teams ranked higher than LSU's spot in total defense, including five that LSU played.
Interesting take...
