The Playoff field is made up of LSU's past vanquished foes from 1958, 2003, and 2007

In a nice bit of historical irony...
The 2019 College Playoff field is made up of Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.
LSU beat each of these teams in bowl games at the end of their three National Championship seasons:
1958 - LSU defeated Clemson 7-0 @ Sugar Bowl - New Orleans, LA
2003 - LSU defeated Oklahoma 21-14 @ Sugar Bowl - New Orleans, LA
2007 - LSU defeated Ohio State 38-24 @ BCS Championship Game - New Orleans, LA
Let's take care of business against Oklahoma, but you gotta love that the College Football Playoff Championship will once again end in New Orleans!
Geaux Tigers!!!

I had noticed that earlier today. Glad you brought it up. It's definitely an interesting quirk.

Very ironic, I had thought about the Oklahoma and Ohio state similarities. I guess because the champion was crowned before that Sugar Bowl Clemson didn't stand out.

LSU fans living in the Southeast should jump all over this game imo

What are the odds of this... could it be destiny?

Since it's in New Orleans, yes.
