I mean, if you're going to run your mouth, be correct.

I've had to correct you several times now.

Your formula for strength of schedule is WAY out of whack.
You don’t even know what the formula is, so you don’t know what you’re talking about.

But I’m sorry, your formula is clearly garbage if it says that cincy’s schedule was WAY harder.
That’s not how math works.

Why don't you incorporate your own rankings into your SOS? (i.e a win against your top team is obviously not the same as a win against your bottom team). Is it simply because you believe the w% ow% and oow% fully capture that? Also is the above weighed with ow% having more weight than oow%?

I don’t need to, because I know the results of all of the reputable SOS calculations and I know that none of them have Cincy anywhere near the top 15 toughest schedules. You are clearly doing something that is drastically out of sync with every major college football ranker.

If you’re going to invent math that says 2+2=10, you can’t be surprised when people say it doesn’t make any sense.

It would create a circular formula since SOS is incorporated into a team’s rankings. Every team’s ranking would be “error.”

Of course.

Weight of a team’s w% = A
Weight of a team’s ow% = B
Weight of a team’s oow% = C

A/B = B/C
A = B+C

When I post stuff like this....

School - w% - ow% - oow% - SOS
Team A .750 .505 .499 59
Team B .818 .444 .498 65

....I’m not posting my formula or even my opinion, but rather comprehensive pieces of information used to some degree by virtually every formula there is. It’s just there to offer a comprehensive frame for any argument. Often if a person is confused because Team A’s three best wins are better than Team B’s three best wins but Team B is ranked ahead of Team A, looking at the full numbers can explain a lot—and why wouldn’t it?

Deviation from the consensus in the Massey composite currently ranges from 996 to 873; my formula has a 971. So no, I’m not doing anything drastically different.

Yeah, you’re in over your head. I know what I’m talking about, and you don’t. You have a lot of work to do if you want to discuss this further with me, especially if you’re going to be a little prick troll like you’re being. Feel free to let me know when you’ve caught up—until then, no need for you to pay any attention to anything I post here.

Name the teams on LSUs schedule that would beat A1abama with a healthy Tua.

The point isn’t trying to justify a SEC team over Alabama.

Of course not. Your point is to try to inflate A1abama.

right, so you could iterate until you converge to a pre-determined tolerance

has anyone been able to put together a single reason why oregon, penn state, and alabama are ranked ahead of notre dame?

Because the Irish were crushed by Michigan, which is slotted in just ahead of them but behind the above teams.
