This is the kind of cuck RINO move by Kemp that will get him beat by the like of Stacy Abrams in his reelection bid.

Appoint Collins and get this shite right from the get go.

Typical. Every interaction I’ve had with the Georgia GOP leads me to believe that it’s nothing but opportunist RINO neocons. Really sad

I’d rather rip the bandaid off in one pull rather than just incrementally pulling it off prolonging the suffering

Erick Erickson likes the pick so that has me super skeptical. She is Catholic so maybe she is conservative. Not really a fan so far from what I’ve read... a billionaire senator? Come on man. He’s doing this to gain favor with ATL suburb soccer moms.... hello they didn’t really vote for you. The rural votes won it for Kemp.

This is overblown.... she’s very catholic and pro life. Because she was related to some businesses that supported abortion shouldn’t disqualify her.

Does Georgia law require Presidential approval of senatorial appointments? Yes or no.

WTF is requiring Kemp to stab his voters in the back?

You're a total fricking idiot

That is even more stupid than what you usually post.

You have ZERO evidence that Trump is an “authoritarian”.

You are a sky screamer whose silliness quotient is right in the middle of the silly bitches on the view

Trump is one person that happens to be president with an opinion. There is nothing authoritarian about that.

Authoritarian would be running to find a judge halfway across the country to declare an injunction against Kemp making this selection. That shite happens all. the. time. But it ain't Trump doing it.

Buckley trolling early this morning.

I do not know the inner workings or why the governor of Georgia does not want Collins as his choice.
It is my understanding from the pols here in the Atlanta area that Collins is well known and well liked in his district, (which includes some of the outer Atlanta suburban counties like Hall and Forsyth, the Athens area, as well as the north/northeast Georgia mountain counties), and should be able to defend his seat fairly easily come November.

The worry from the governor's office is that by appointing Collins to the Senate then means that district has a special election to fill his seat - which turns into a jungle style special election, and they are worried about who might end up winning that seat in that situation.

That might be some of it. But I know for a fact that the Georgia GOP (at the top, anyway) privately doesn't like Trump and think he's doing damage to the GOP that will take decades to recover from. The Trump support is just for public consumption.

Come on Guy1, you have to exhibit a little better understanding about who approves Senators for unexpired terms. Just think back to John McCain and Martha McSally after John Kyle resigned his interim term to replace the expired John McCain.
