What happened to Acura?

They used to make cool cars like the original NSX, the Legend, or Integra GS-R. In the early 1990s, they were basically a reliable Audi or BMW alternative.
For the early 1990s, Acura was a cool car that stood out for the quality and innovation they offered to consumers.
For the last 10 years, they have nothing that is interesting, much less exciting. All of them have a plastic grill that looks like an afterthought. There’s no real innovation or attempt to stand out. They look more like warmed over, more awkward Honda’s than ever before.
They used to be a real Lexus competitor....now they are shooting the gap between luxury cars and mainstream cars like Lincoln, Chrysler, or Buick. Except that Lincoln is actually trying now. Acura isn’t.

Nissan cannot get that thing right.

I wouldn’t touch anything from Infiniti with those trash transmissions.
Acura’s are better with the interiors, but aesthetically I think their design team needs to be fired along with the team from Lexus.

Rented a qx80 for vacation. It was like driving a luxury airliner.
But everything in it was dated.

My folk’s neighbor has the new NSX. That is an awesome car.

I have a MDX. I like it and it's still strong after 128,000 miles. But I agree with you. The MDX is still using a two screens to convey information/navigation etc. Even the Honda Pilot has evolved to one screen. It's frustrating they don't upgrade more often. I chalk it up to Japanese milquetoast sensibilities. But I'm considering another MDX but the Sport Hybrid this time.
And speaking of funky plastic grills, WTF with the Lexus transformer type appearances?

Acura’s are better with the interiors,
Google “Acura seats peeling” and look at the pics.
And they had the engines with the terrible oil consumption.

But not awesome enough. Acura had to put a $20,000 discount on 2019s just to try to move them. The NSX has been pretty much a failure.
Acura's biggest issue, much more so than styling, is the reliability has dropped of a cliff in the last 5 years or so, even more so than Honda. They are in a serious corporate-wide crisis.

Bought the wife (no pics) an Acura RDX 4wd 8 months ago after trading in her 6 year old RDX with 112k trouble free miles. Couldn't be happier with it.

Obtuse,
I know you know cars, and I respect your opinion in car threads, but that bitch is bad. You’d drive the frickin shite out it.
But you guys with 200k to toss out the window on a car that sits in the garage of your weekend house aren’t thinking about reliability in the same sense I am.

What 200K car would this be?

The NSX
I can handle a top of the line MDX but I'm not paying 200K for any car. I ain't rich/rich.
