Didn’t start playing football until his Junior year of HS. He was all in on basketball.
Last summer he camped at Bama & at the end of camp Saban offered him.
Saban was quoted “ “Your kid’s got something that a lot of these kids don’t have,” Saban reportedly said.
“He comes at you with snap, with the intention to do damage,” Gross recalls Saban saying. “I’m trying to teach players that right now (who) are already in my system.”
He’s taken a lot of the agility it takes to play basketball to the football field, he’a got great feet and athleticism you can’t teach.

Who cares, I trust our coaches. Just look at Jacob Hester

All different coaches since Hester

FWIW, he is a very very high 3 star.

Awesome. When he becomes a 4 star then he’s good enough for us. Still skeptical til then

Justin Jefferson, tyran Mathieu were both 3 stars. Should they have not come to LSU ? I got an idea U should go voice your opinion to those guys personally.

I hate when people bring up other 3 stars. Xavier Hill should be a four star but to mention Hester who was 15 years ago is ridiculous. For the 5,000th time stars do matter.

I’m in the minority but I love this pickup, we missed on van pran, and on tape he looks to be almost as good.
Let’s we how all this plays out.

If Saban said that, X. Hill can be a great guard in the NFL.
From Wikipedia about Antonio Gates:
"College career
Originally, Gates enrolled at Michigan State University wanting to play football under then-coach Nick Saban as well as basketball under coach Tom Izzo. Upon enrolling, he learned that Saban wanted him to play only football.[7] Gates then chose to pursue playing basketball by transferring to Eastern Michigan University. He played there part of a season before transferring to the College of the Sequoias, a junior college in California, to focus on academics. Recruited by Stan Heath, Gates transferred to Kent State University in northeastern Ohio.[8]"
A. Gates ended up playing football only.

Stars schmars Clyde Helaire was a 3 star. Who gives a damm about stars. Either you can play or you can't. Bama has more 4 and 5 stars than us and we beat em.

But what was the reason he left Alabama (flipped) and wanted to come to LSU?

Recruiting violation?

does this mean we won't win the recruiting championship?
