I believe they bond over shared stories of racism against them. AD shares stories of how the black GM and black coaches were racist against him in the racist South, while Lebron shares stories of how his fence was spray painted by the KKK. Together they allow each other to heal and provide African American support to one another

All this time I was mad at AD for not taking over games last, missing nine games for a sprained finger, wearing a that's all folks shirt....its all really because I was just so caught up in my own hatred of the African american race.
