Not sure why I thought he was. I even went and looked briefly at his 247 profile.

Looking at Twitter, seems like he just committed to Purdue

Saves the trouble of processing him later

He doesn’t like what happened to Alec Bryant. Don’t care, bye.

I was going to post this earlier today in the Bryant thread but didn't want to stir the pot with conjecture.

My thought was these guys are the same exact size, play the same position in the same state, and both 4-stars. Figured it would be a good gauge as to whether other Texas recruits would actually be turned off by the Bryant process as some alluded.

Kids don’t care about all that very much. It’s a business and they know it.

This kid committing to Purdue tells you this wasn’t just his decision

So wait why take his commitment not that long ago and then process him this quick, especially since it's next year?

How do you know most Texas recruits would even know about the Bryant deal? I would assume just the opposite, myself.

Can you explain how he even knew, cause the tweet I saw didn't give any indication why Bryant elected to de-commit and re-open his recruitment. Not to mention that recruits commit and de-commit all the time.

Its stuff like this and the response from the ignorant fans that make me really hate recruiting.

Oh, and the hat ceremonies and the 1st round draft pick production, and the stupid gloves and the phrase - "I'm taking my talents ....."

Its all so dumb.

I didn't think that, but it was said by a lot of others in the Bryant thread. My thought was going to tell them to watch Watson's commitment as a test to see if other recruits care. That test was failed much quicker than I had thought.

Maybe the feedback from other targets has been very favorable?

They took him before this season started, he hasn't developed into what they were hoping. He's very similar to Bryant is the word and not a fit for our scheme at LB or DL.

This wasn't unexpected necessarily, Watson just doesnt really fit in defensively like Bryant didn't.

Did they tell him to look elsewhere? Maybe, maybe not, but I bet we wont be pursuing him either way as this was likely to be inevitable in the end had he stayed committed.

I don't see where committed to Purdue but I do see where he received an offer. Also he retweeted Alec Bryant's decommitment so it seems to be possible that it went into his decision.

It’s kinda obvious. 2 days after Alec was processed, he decommits. Not rocket science

Even if true, I’m not overly concerned. Assuming he’s worth the spot, we could still win him back over. There’s plenty of time. He even says in his letter that we are still in the mix.
