Just got done reading the changes coming to the NBA format, and I gotta say. . .

I think I am done with the NBA.
Just awful, and a complete re-invention of something that was already fine.

I admit, most of my complaints is the nostalgic draw of tradition and history. . .but this is drastic.

Aren’t ratings down 18% or something; they are probably trying to prevent that statistic from getting worse.

I am going to give it a chance. . .but I have some serious reservations, man.

Lot of young people follow players and not teams. Therefore you can see why ratings are down.
People have more attachment long term to teams as the team itself will always outlast the player.
These changes in effect are trying to get people to cheer for the team again.

Unless each team plays the same schedule, there is no point in seeding based on overall record
And adding even more playoff teams? The 10th place teams are garbage. If anything contract to make the regular season more meaningful. That's why ratings are down, the regular season doesnt mattter when over half the teams get in

None of this is definitely be happening, so not sure why it's being talked about like it's a done deal.
