What's your opinion regarding warranties and tvs?. I've always bought them, but have never used it. Every article I've read says that they're not worth the money.

It's insurance. It's peace of mind. If it takes a little stress off for the money, go for it.
But if you're asking strictly monetarily, they are obviously not worth it, otherwise they wouldn't be offered. The price and terms of a warranty are calculated to make a profit for the warranty company. Which means the consumer is in the red, overall.
For big ticket items like vehicles, they can still be worth it. But for a TV? Nah.

For a computer it is IMO

Almost never worth it, unless it's an Apple product because their product was designed to fail within 3 years so they can sell suckers a replacement.

I'd only get an extended warranty if I was an early adopter of some new technology (first DLP, LED, OLED etc).
In general for most purchases not worth it.

Basically no. It’s how they maintain profitability.
However I got one for my OLED TV that covers burn in so I can just dog it out and not worry.

I got a 3 year warranty on a $1,700 refrigerator from Best Buy. 3 days before the warranty was over, my ice machine wasn't making consistently so I decided to send a tech out. He said the part that need fixed was unfixable so they'd trash it and give me a $1,700 credit for my next refrigerator.
I did learn that Samsung sucks in general, but happy I bought that one!

Gotten a bad large screen TV replaced after 2 failed attempts at repair by BestBuy.
Had some other appliances and lawn tractor repaired from various other add-on warranties over the course of the years. We've found that for a few bucks it's worth it. If it runs more than about $10/year though we skip it.

Ice maker in my Frigidaire has been trash—breaks every few months. Best Buy warranty on that has been worth it

Glad it worked for you.
I bought an extended warranty on a Tv from Best Buy around 2008 and the panel went out. The TV was $1,400 at the time. I was thinking awesome, I’m going to get $1,400 credit to BB. Wrong they gave me $750 to go buy a TV. I argued with the manager because I kept telling them what I paid for it and what they are trying to give me isn’t what I paid the warranty for. He kept saying the technology changed and my tv wasn’t worth what I paid for it anymore. They would not budge got into a huge argument with the manger who was trying to make it like a racial thing. I’m white he was black. I kept pointing for some reason, and he started telling me not to point my finger at him and we went back and forth before my wife and his employees basically separated us. I was just explaining my point of the warranty and he was telling me I better stop pointing at him. I told him I don’t work there or for him, so that pissed me off, but he was the aggressor. I eventually got an employee at another Best Buy to help me out a little with the price of a tv I liked. The only tv I could’ve gotten for the money they gave me was an Insignia and I wasn’t paying that for a no name brand Tv in 2008. At this time any Samsung, Sony, tv was $850 plus . Haven’t bought a warranty since.
