Favorite ammo for whitetail? I know I need to buy ten boxes and see what shoots best, but indulge me and tell me what your personal favorite is.

Every single one of them will kill a deer. I prefer federal premium 225gr bonded bear claws. That's because they shoot the best out of my gun (same one as yours). Lot of people like the 180gr barnes, will probably get you a little more distance. I have not had good results with core-lokts or hornady superformance, but as you have been told that can vary from gun to gun.

Barnes 180gr

I have an T/C Encore with a 26" barrel and it likes 200 grain Federal Fusions the best. I've only tried 200 grain Hornady, Core Lokts and the Fusions though.

I love the Barnes but good luck finding them.

I have the TC Encore 28” barrel and it shoots the Barnes 180’s really well. It’s the only ones I’ve tried. I haven’t killed a deer with it yet, but I have no doubt it will be effective when I do shoot one.

CVA Elite Stalker.
200gr Soft Point Hornady Superformance
I’m happy with the way they shoot in my rifle.
Be sure to torque your scope rings to proper specs, maybe consider using blue loctite on scope ring threads. My scope moved in the rings a couple weeks ago when sighting it in.

I shoot the 200gr Core Lokt. It goes bang and they go flop.

200 gr hornady . Keep nose away from scope . Have busted the bridge of my nose twice . I'm hard headed , with a scar .

Out of my gun, Hornady SP 200gr.
I know a lot on this hate hornady but my gun likes them. I’ve shot 180gr Barnes and they group near as well. I love Barnes ammo but I was shocked to see the 200gr Hornady SP shoot better
