YouTube tv dvr is not user friendly

I like the channels and lay out but 4 things that suck about it
1. DVR does not allow you to record new episodes only
2. DVR doesn't let you delete single episodes after watching
3. DVR doesn't let you record single episodes
4. Guide doesn't tell you if episode is new
I'm coming from hulu live where these things were possible

Unlimited storage is great but just being able to see the new episode without episodes from every season is much easier if I want old episodes I'll watch vod

It makes it a bit of an unorganized clusterfrick trying to browse through your recordings.
I agree with OP, there's a lot of head scratchers with their design. To add to his post, I also find that shows don't end up in the right categories frequently. Like something that was JUST recorded not showing up in the "New to library" area. Or a game I record is sometimes showing up in "sports", sometimes showing up in "events".
Definitely agree with OP's point about no option to record one episode. I recorded College football live after the bama game and now my library has every airing of CFL since then.
I also find the navigation overall is kinda clunky. And as far as I can tell you can't see past the current hour on the live TV guide, which is a nightmare.

I'll add that sometimes you have to dig through the library to find the recording you want to watch.
I agree it is clunky, and it's really my only gripe with YouTubeTV. DirecTVNow had pretty good DVR interface.

Damn, I literally just opened my laptop to cancel my 7 day trial of Hulu Live to try YTTV for the next week, but now I don't know. Had a few gripes while watching football this weekend on Hulu Live.
The major one was while switching between games, when I would switch over to another game while one was on commercial and I came back to the original it was still in the same spot (had to FF through commercial), and sometimes it would refer back to a point much further back so I had to sit there and FF for a few minutes.

If you have it recording it will revert back to where you left off I stopped recording it and it didn't do it

I agree they should implement the ability to either record the entire series or just one episode, however, saying you'll just watch VOD is a terrible alternative considering you cant skip commercials with VOD.

Good lord, worrying about trying a free trial..... YouTube TV is a fantastic product. It just has a couple areas where it can be improved upon.

I have psvue and have basically the same complaints as the op. Maybe I just haven't learned how to use it but it seems like every time I want to just record 1 thing, I end up with the whole series. Which is ok when recording a show. But When the series is titled COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Then it's a bit dumb. Same with watching. I know certain series are supposed to record and yet it only shows one episode. The only good thing I've liked about PSVue is the games don't screw up as much as ESPN's site or sling. And that's it.

Vue tells you if episodes are new. And you can see if you've watched it already but otherwise it sounds the same
