Justin Hebert is the country's best QB and will be the first QB drafted. Sorry you don't watch him enough to understand that.
I will admit that I haven't watched him much beyond the Auburn game. He looked good at times against them, and not so good at times. But, that was against a really good defense.

Issue with Auburn game was he had none of his starters playing WR the expected top 4 WR were out. He has not had his full set of WR all year. Pittman is hurt now, who knows how long. People do not seem to put that in. You put Herbert with Ruggs, Waddle, Smith, and Jeudy or Chase, Jordan, Moss etc he would be killing it in the air. They had to basically change everything they do because of injuries. Problem is when they changed they got better because now they maul you to death. It is the Bama Offense with Kiffin philosophy, run to hammer you and torture you, pass for the kill shot.
That is why if Herbert got hurt, they would be okay just not as explosive and would just beat you up on the OL.

If the question was along the lines of "who wins it all if everyone has to play their backup" then I'd lean Bama (the backup has already started a game this season) or Georgia (least reliant on their QB to go win them games)
If the question is which can insert their backup and still win despite that, then the answer is none of them. Too many good QB's in the top 10 right now. I'd lean towards OSU though in that scenario because they have a player on the defensive side of the ball that can alter a football game by himself and can't really be schemed around. They would have "the best chance" but that's because 2% is greater than 1%

It's Oregon's Defense nobody is talking about which is winning them all their games.
Does Oregon actually have a good defense, or was Nix so bad for Auburn everyone thought they were good and not that Nix sucked?
They give up 30+ points against most teams with a pulse.

And there is another one that does not watch Oregon
They gave up 31 to Washington and 35 to Wazzu and 24 SC
So you need to watch them before making stupid posts like that.
I mean LSU has given up 30 plus to teams without a pulse and with a pulse. But Oregon hasn't given up 200 yd rusher yet especially it being the True Freshman QB. But you make a pulse comment, damn.

I just can't choose Bama in this scenario because I think that we would get gashed to death by Dobbins, Etienne, Swift, etc

And Bama is a horrific answer anyway. We saw what Bama did AT HONE WITH TUA against LSU

I think the true answer is either Ohio State or Clemson.
We have seen Lawrence just stink it up and Clemson rolled along. Ohio State has players and a Defense.

If Burrow goes down LSU is fricked.
The best kept secret in college football is that LSU would be 10-0 with virtually any acceptable quarterback.

Can you read? He said "if everyone has to play with their backup."

well that simply is not true.
Texas and Bama both made their LSU games interesting because LSU decided to air it out in the second half instead of bury the opponent with the running game.
Even Ole Miss was let off the hook because of this.
LSU should have won all three of these games way bigger than they did, but they kept lining up in the shotgun up multiple scores in the fourth quarter with a RB averaging >6ypc in each of these games.

Has it occured to you that the running game is so effective because the defense is often in nickel and dime personnel to combat the passing attack?
If LSU doesn't keep their foot on the gas and keep running the offense that got them here in those game then there's a decent chance they have a loss or two right now. The defense can't stop anyone. You start going back to Miles ball 3 and out in these games and all of the sudden the other team has caught up in hurry. You saw what happened when alabama managed any sort of stop, they outscored LSU by two TD's in the second half. That could've easily become 3 or 4 if LSU got away from what they were doing early

So you don't think that the ever-present threat of Joe Burrow making big plays with his arm makes teams more vulnerable to the run game??

I’ll be more than fair to your point and say that this accounts for 2.5 of CEH’s 7.5 ypc.
When you have a RB averaging 5.0 ypc, guess what the smart thing to do is?

So you think that the passing game is effective because teams are worried about the run? If that were the case then you would see teams play base defense against LSU, not 5, 6, or even 7 defensive back personnel groupings.
It's pretty elementary football. Defensive personnel is almost entirely dictated by offensive personnel. Going 3, 4, or 5 wide requires more defensive backs, who typically can't plug the run as well as linebackers
