are becoming Jackson Mississippi and I’ll see your Jackson Mississippi and raise you a Baltimore Maryland.
Before you know it you’ll have Detroit.

Cities that have democratic leadership for decades and carry a state’s gubernatorial elections on their backs usually don’t fare too well.

Well don’t know about Orleans but the EBR metro council is majority Conservative as is the state house and senate for that matter so the executive is definitely in check for what that’s worth.

If I were a conservative in Louisiana I would be concerned. I moved my fulltime residence from California to escape the shite that's getting ready to hir Louisiana.

Are you implying Louisiana or any state in the Deep South is going to be anything like California? And to the downvoters Louisiana also has 2 US senators and 5 of 6 US reps republican to go along with a majority republican state legislature and obviously a republican US president who will win a second term so anything that resembles an overreach by JBE in his second term is going nowhere. I’m honestly not worried. Edwards is probably going to sit around and get the second term blues.
He’s landlocked on the local state and federal level. He hasn’t much choice but to play baseball. I don’t see anything devastatingly left ever becoming policy here, after all JBE in fact conceded to anti abortion which I give him credit for. The thing that upsets me the most is the economic loss. If Rispone was going to be anything like DJT he would loosen Regs on oil and gas and get some money into these parishes so we could fix our roads. Obviously not happening now.

New Orleans (for all its faults) is one of the greatest cities in the country and very unique. It is nothing like Jackson, MS.

True. He'll go left when he can but he won't be able to do too much damage if the legislature does its job. But we needed a Governor who could help this state benefit from the Trump economy and we just shut the door on that. Our chance to keep up or catch up economically has been put on pause for another four years. That could just be too late.
I asked his supporters in another thread what JBE would do in his second term to improve the state and all I got was "go fishin, go huntin, watch football, life goes on".

This isn't new brother. Where have you been the past 30 years? Shreveport, Monroe and Alexandria are no different

You people blew it. Plain and simple. When they use the same machine to steal the state for a Biden or whoever, and steal the 2020 election its on you.

Louisiana isn't a reliably red state other than for presidential elections. This shouldn't be a shock for anyone that's lived here for long.

Except that both U.S. Senators, all Congressmen save one, and super majorities in both houses of the state legislature are ALL Republicans.
