Muschamp's buyout currently is $22.05 million, here is how much it goes down by year:
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2020: $18.75 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2021: $15.3 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2022: $11.7 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2023: $7.95 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2024: $4.05 million
Unbelievable that this is the position Ray Tanner put the university in.

Is this tarnishing Tanner's legacy any?
Completely. I want his arse tarred and feathered before being led out of Columbia. He has destroyed our men's athletic programs, especially football and baseball. And hell, he didn't hire Frank Martin, who provided us with the only true bright spot during Tanner's tenure with the Final 4 run.

Do you not have a BOS that has to sign off on that contract??
Posted on 11/15/19 at 1:49 pm to Dudebro2
if his bo were just 8 mil right now I'd be surprised if they were willing to eat that contract.

Ever watched O Brother Where Art Thou? Our BOT is filled with men like those who surrounded Pappy O'Daniel. Yes men who use their position for personal enrichment and gain. It's sickening to watch.

The BOT is even worse
Wouldn’t be surprised if they were the product of inbreeding

Unfortunately for the State of SC. That’s all we got. It’s almost like a cult

Do you think you all will get rid of him this year or is he gonna get another year?

Damn Brad Edwards is gonna be the AD?

I have no idea what SC situation is but if they are also are looking to replace their AD do that first then let the AD hire the new football coach.

Sounds like a certain university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Large buyout for Muschamp? Didn't realize it. Not sure why you agree to that. He is a DC. He needs to sit under someone like Saban for an extended amount of time (like Kirby did). He isn't ready to run a program in my opinion.

Give him a choice to allow him to stay on another year, in exchange for accelerating his buy out schedule, as follows:
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2021: $11.7 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2022: $7.95 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2023: $4.05 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2024: $2.00 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2021: $11.7 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2022: $7.95 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2023: $4.05 million
If terminated on Jan. 1, 2024: $2.00 million

This actually isn't a bad idea, don't know why we haven't really seen a program do it before.
If a coach like Muschamp knows he's on thin ice but feels like he can right the ship then it's a perfect opportunity. He proves himself worthy or still walks away with an 8-digit payday.

Caslen is a red-blooded, no bullshite kinda guy. Massive upgrade over that limpwristed douchebag Pastides. Sounds like the message is clear: beat Clemson, or expect to be fired.
