It can be anything, from money management to beginner investing books.

The two best have already been recommended.
> Read Dave Ramsey's baby steps article or whatever. All his other stuff is basically a retelling of those.
> Read The Richest Man in Babylon. It's an extremely quick read and really repetitive, so if you zone out for a few pages you won't miss much.
> Read Millionaire Next Door. I pass this book out to people more than any other. It's old but the lessons and stories are all still completely relevant and useful.
Finally, it's not a book but this list of quotes from the Bogleheads forum is also excellent reading. LINK
All of the above should be mandatory summer reading for anyone who graduates high school in this country.

Here’s the three books you need to read in order with regards to investing not necessarily solely personal finance:
1. The Millionaire Next Door
LINK
2. The Little Book of Common Sense Investing
LINK
3. The Intelligent Investor
LINK
Once you’ve read these base books move into books such as:
A Random Walk Down Wall Street
LINK
And
One Up on Wall Street

Currently reading "I Will Teach You to be Rich" by Ramit Sethi. I actually knew about it for a couple years but didnt buy because of the title, but heard someone talk about it helping them so picked one up. Tons of great, practical info
